I've made up new sigils for the Vassals of the five lands - you can get them at:

www.knightrealms.com/in-game/sigils-and-seals.html

Note that Travance and Winterdark don't have Vassals, only Nobility or Officers. (There's a shiny new sigil for Damien, too...)

Prior to this, I had only wanted to have sigils for the Nobility, but it occurred to me that people that wanted to show their loyalty to the Lands would then be forced to use either a Noble's sigil, or one they made themselves. This helps keep it simple and easy for all of the Vassals to have a uniform emblem to use.

Enjoy!

I am just curious as to why the Baronial Estates (Travance) don't allow vassals. What of those who wish to pledge themselves in service to the Barony, rather than one of the five Lords?

If I may ask, which sigils should squires use? If it is the one for the vassals then what of the squires to the barony and her nobles?

Squires should use the Vassal symbols, as they are not full Nobility yet.

For the Barony and Winterdark - in the Feudal model, subjects vassal to a Land, and that Land (via its Lord) then offers its support to a Barony, who supports a Count, and so on up to the King. Unless you are in direct service to someone higher than a Lord - such as a Knight or an Officer of the Barony - there's no reason to vassal to those groups, because you would be stepping outside the Feudal structure by doing so. From an OOG perspective, it also means that a PC can't say they are vassaled to a group "above" the 5 Lands without earning a position, which helps set up the dynamic & social structure of the game.

A good way to look at it is this - in a modern company, not everyone reports directly to the President, although everyone listens to him. The Vice Presidents (Lords) report to the President (Count / Baron). Managers (Knights) and Workers (Vassals) report to their VPs.

As someone who has been a Squire for a very long time, take it from me... it's not so bad. Think of Squires as the NCO's of Travance. Get really good at it, you can pick-up the heroic-master-promo skill called...

Kick It Up the Chain
Traits: Skill (Periodic), Social, Defense, Superior, Naming, Movement
If the squire has some kind of troublesome NPC that is bugging them, the Squire names a higher ranking Noble within sight & takes the problem NPC to the named Noble. Now the bothersome NPC will stick to the higher ranking Noble & the Squire will call "Got work to do", and gets to Flee the immediate area.
