There's news of a snow storm headed in this upcoming weekend, but as with all things weather related, they change over time, so don't make too many decisions yet.
In regards to temperatures & preparation - It will likely be cold. Below freezing, but not below zero. That means that clothing, safety, and preparation will be key.
I highly recommend packing for the event sooner rather than later, and digging out your thermals and extra socks (and extra, extra socks) NOW, rather than Friday morning / afternoon. That way, if you realize something is missing, you have time to compensate and buy / borrow one.
Thermals, socks, cloaks, multiple layers, hand & boot warmers, spare layers, extra blankets, hats, ear muffs, gloves, scarves, even more socks, and warm street clothes for after the game.
Because sleeping will be packed, please be considerate and pack tight as possible, and leave as much as you can in your car so as not to crowd out others.
Thank you, and have a good game!

And for those of you who may not realize it, safety is more important in cold weather than 100% immersion. Wear your warm boots, even if they don't go with your clothing. Wear layers of warm things under your costume if you can, if not it is better to have a coat on and be a little out of place than to injure yourself for the sake of costuming.
Everyone is able to imagine fireballs, everyone can also imagine that your gloves and scarf fit in.

Incase there are people who haven't been keeping up, currently the forecast for Saturday is a total of 4"-8" of snow from 7am-2am and starting at 10am, winds of 18-20mph. Plan accordingly

On Saturday it is going up to a high of a SWELTERING 24 degrees. Take any and all precautions and, if you feel cold/numb, GET INSIDE. You can't save Travance when you're dead or missing digits because they froze off.
As for combat in the cold, remember that cold makes foam harder. Much harder. Take extra care to use the least amount of force possible to deliver blows. A normal strike in the summer can cause a nasty sting in the winter, especially if the body is cold. If someone asks you to check your swings, as always apologize and try to pull your blows as much as possible and realize that it might be the cold affecting your weapon.
If you are dropped during the event, and there is snow on the ground, there is no shame in stooping down rather than lying on snow-covered ground or in frozen mud. Simply clarify that you are lying on the ground, motionless if someone happens upon you. As Joe said, your safety is far more important than immersion will ever be. This is especially true for NPCs, particularly weekenders, because you will drop more than anyone else and that snow will stick to your body, melt when you return to logistics, and then refreeze when you are sent back out.
EDIT: I am probably going to ignore my own advice a lot this weekend. If you see me take a nose dive into the snow, be kind enough to say "Get up, idiot" when you search me.

Preparedness doesn't just mean for the game! I'm bringing a snow shovel in case we need to dig our cars out Sunday, I urge anyone going to do the same. Maybe some cardboard for under tires, etc.
See you all there!
