Where would be the best place to find a sword and at a reasonable price?

Also, if I buy a sword, can someone in the knight realms community help in changing little details?

www.japanese-samurai-swords.net/store/im...paul-chen-handle.jpg this is a real sword, and I'd like the boffer latex/foam weapon to at least closely resemble it.

The things I would like changed would be the color of the hilt and pommel of the sword to silver , and added tassel hanging from the pommel.

is what I would like to have modified.

In terms of buying a pre-made sword, I recommend: larpexchange.com/

This is run by a former Knight Realms player, and he often shows up on Friday night/Saturday midday at the events as well. Reasonable prices, and if you order from the site, there's a code for free shipping (which means he will bring it straight there for you). I don't recall the code, but it's flying around on one of these boards. It's KnightRealms(something), though.

As for modifying, I recommend talking to some folks at game - there are some who do custom work, but it's sort of pricey to do a single piece, so you might wait until you have 2 or 3 items to get them customized.

Shinoski,

Not sure if you're aware of it or not or even care but the LARP Katana you're looking to buy and modify is 40.5" long, thus making it fall into the 1-Handed Edge (2 base damage) category and not the Bastard Sword category (2 base damage when 1 handed and 5 base damage when 2 handed). Bastard Weapons in general (pg 42 KR Rules) have a minimum of 42".

That's my two-cents

I know the sword is for one handed, but there's a in character reason for that, and it has to deal with the way my character is built. Thank you for the advice anyway!

P.S.

Wanted to make sure that I didn't seem that I was disregarding the advice that was given to me. The reason why I am having a shorter Katana is because of a cleric build. Anything larger then that isn't allowed for a Cleric, because their main weapons are maces, and not swords.

then if you are going for a more Khitan style PC, why not try a shorter, Kanabo style mace?
