First Event in April

12 years 10 months ago #82516 by Caldor Eirson (Caldor)
Looks like after 3 months of false hopes and dreams, my wife and I will actually be able to make the April Event!

As of now we are coming in as a Human Barbarian Druid and a Dryad Ranger (or Archer). We've been getting our gear and costumes and reviewing the new player rules and guidelines and what not. My wife sent the e-mail for us, and we've been making our characters. We also hope to volunteer for Kitchen duty.

Any advice for things we may forget or things we should be prepared for our first weekend would be appreciated!

Extra socks, water bottle (preferably with an in-game looking carrying device), layers, snack or food for non-feast eating (unless you just buy whatever else people sell at various times). And especially, sense of adventure. Can't leave that at home!

Trail mix is always a good stand by for snacking. Don't forget bedding such as a blanket or sleeping bag for when you might actually be able to catch a nap.

Just to note, Kitchen Duty is not really an open option in leiu of NPCing except for those few players that are assigned to it normally and are involved that month in making the Feast - its definitely something worth asking our Kitchen Marshal on duty about once you arrive though!

Definitely make sure to bring wicking layers - it might be getting warmer, but nights will still be quite cold - and plenty of socks (the Camp is often muddy).

If you have an specific questions please feel free to post them up, and someone will be happy to help you both out - See you soon!

There are always things that can be done to help out in the kitchen any time, but especially saturday from 2-9pm with feast prep/serving/cleanup. If you have any specifics about the kitchen you are curious about feel free to shoot me a PM.
But feel free to see me or any other of the kitchen marshals during the weekend and we can figure out where you could be the biggest help!

See you at the event!

Thanks for all the replies. We'll definitely pack heavy on the socks. I have to figure out what layers I can do with the costume I have...
