With my regrets...

To the good people of Travance,

As many of you know, last Baronial feast I lead a group to the Howling Void, which is the home realm of the dark god Galamachis. We went to this place knowing it to be immeasurable dark and dangerous but it is all that much more for Gaians and healers. We were forced to trade a name to the book of death in return for the name required to save our people from the mummy. My name was the name chosen and Galamachis himself tore the spirit, instantly, from my body. As a priestess, I have passed through the focus many times, but nothing prepared me for the pain and shock of this sort of death. Nothing prepared me, either, for the clarity that would come after.

As a young girl I believed that a priest should not split their loyalty to their god for any reason. A good priest often needs to be dedicated heart and soul to their beliefs. Over the years I began to lose track of that belief and spread myself too thin. I believed I could help more and more people and did not realize everyone was suffering rather than benefiting from my split attentions. I had a dream a few nights past, a vision I believe, of a young girl praying fervently beneath her altar to Gaia. She was heart and soul dedicated to preserving life and she was happy, something I have not been in a very long time. Sometimes to find the right path you must circle back to where you began and I intend to do that very thing.

I am stepping down as the Lady of Alisandria, I am renouncing any noble title of the Barony and giving myself more fully back to the faith that has suffered this last year. I regret that I will not be able to accomplish some of what I dreamed but, in time, perhaps new dreams will arise and be actualized.

I will reside in the Monastery and will always continue to strive to aid any man who comes to me in need. I pray that you all be understanding of the difficulty of this decision.

Gaia bless and keep you all,

Mother Rosa

Mother Rosa,

Do not be disappointed with your decisions.  While your lands suffer a loss,  you church needs you more than ever.  We welcome you with widely open arms and hope you achieve all that you wish to do in your Lady's name.

The Gods of Light truly shine bright with this news.

The Land of Alisandria supports the good Mother in her difficult decision.  She is brave in her pursuits.

The Church of Kormyre is indeed fortunate to have one so devoted to Gaia.

Travance is especially fortunate.

Mother Rosa,

Every decision you have made in your years here has led you on your current path.  Even if past good intensions led you astray I have absolute faith that you will find your place again.  I know your work for Gaia will further inspire those around you.  When in need know that you have friends here to keep you grounded.

May you continue always on the path of light.

Honorable Mother Rosa,

Choices.  Decisions.  Actions.  Each of these things is what we as people perform when faced with adversity.  We like to believe all our actions are rei... are morally right.  We like to believe all our actions are made in jin... in compassion.  If we never erred or never made a wrong decision... we wouldn't be mortal or people.  Perfection is only perfect in hindsight.  The only thing we can do is when we see the results of our actions is to face it with gi... equanimity.

Everything you have done is with the belief it is for the right.  You now feel you must change.  So be it.  As a vassal of Alisandria, we mourn the loss of your company, but can only see it as a gain in the greater good for the future.

In chugo, I will remain at your beck and call.

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would still smell as sweet."

Mother Rosa,
I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your journeys wherever they may lead you. Often times, it's the moments where we feel we have lost our way that actually lead us to the path we are supposed to take. I don't believe in hypocrisy because what I say today could be nullified by tomorrows expierience. The journey to find yourself and your god is the holiest of journeys anyone could undertake. In my humble opinion, I think it's the closest we as humans can get to our God's.
Do not regret stepping down, as it will change and lead you to the place you were truly meant to be.

May Gaia lead you,
