Its a Boy! Wait, it's a Linebacker!

Hello all, and hope you had a Merry Christmas. Mine was wonderful, if a little nervewracking and unconventional.

On December 23, 2008 at 10:11 PM, Gabriel M. W. was brought into the world via c-section after a difficult and unproductive, sleep deprived, induced, complete with utterly failed 2 attempts at epidural, after 12 hours of high-dose pitocin (read 'crank up the contractions and get this thing going') labor. However, I have learned the immediate gratification of a spinal block and will never doubt again. Modern medicine is my friend.

Gabriel came into this world at 10lb 3oz and 21 1/2in, which might explain his reluctance to try to get out the old-fashioned way (and my body's reluctance to let him try). The doctor's words upon pulling him out were "wow, this kid's gonna WALK home." He responsed by peeing all over the doctor.

Thanks to all who have already sent their well-wishes. Though I am feeling well, since surgery was part of the delivery, I will not be attending the January event. That would just be silly.  However, I'll see you all in February, and keep posted for details on a casual drop-in at our house sometime in Jan. to meet Gabriel (and just give me a chance to see you guys once again.)

Holy cow!  That's some baby!

My son was born the same exact way lol almost completely identical , Great news though and it great to hear you and your son are health. CONGRATULATIONS  

Great news, Jen.  Glad to see you still have your sense of humor, though we'll see what sleep deprivation does to it.  Look forward to seeing you, but not speaking with you, IG.

BIG Boy.  He will live up to is surname, I'm sure.

May he be free of Colic and other funtimes that keep mom and dad up at night.
