Man powered. The tell tale is the legs, where you see the black-cloth masque which he's using to disguise as part of the machine. Amazing animatronic work though. For real robotics, I believe Honda has produced a walking, dancing, stair climbing robot... terrifying.

The robot Matt is referring to was/is Asimo. I saw one perform a long time ago. Stair climbing, some minor dancing, and a bubblehead with face plate. Not bad. I'm awaiting for the robot that does dishes, clean the house, does laundry, and cooks. Until then, I have to settle for whatever GF I can convince to do all that stuff for me. :

It's no wonder I'm single...

Yeah these guys often come to the NYC Halloween parade in various costumes. Usually its one guy in the large costume and the others are "security" or "technicians". This was one of them, although in person, it looks really freakin cool.
