Zander

((A blotchy water-stained parchment written in a shakey hand))

As his brother it falls to me to inform all those who knew my brother. Zander Gehnsen has fallen in battle at Alok Malagon. I received his effects and the news several weeks ago whilst in the proper. I wish for all that knew him, well or not at all to help me this next moon to give my brother a proper send-off. Had I a body I would be content to give him a burial at sea, but that appears to be beyond hope. I wish instead to hold vigil for him next moon, and hope for all that knew him to come, afterwards we will celebrate his life, his triumphs, the man who as a boy protected me and I him. I will write upon this parchment again once I am more sure of the proceedings.

In sorrow I write,

I am sorry to hear for your loss. Zander was a great man and I considered him a close friend. He is now with his ancestors in the beyond, and I will be glad to come celebrate the life of your brother.

He died a hero! Tears are not what we pay heros, we pay them in song, stories, pretty women and respect. I know I will raise a glass for him and celebrate his life as I know he would want me to. You should all do the same.
