Awards for March, 2014

  • Abby Leib as Thalia Burdon

Thalia stood out among a sea of Dwarves in March. The animosity coming from her was evident at first, but soon softened as she immersed herself into the weekend plot, acted as a servant during the negotiations between the surface and deep dwarves and came around to trust the ideals set before her by the Dark Dwarven Kingdom. Thalia's ability to relate detailed information about the dwarf culture and the current political situation was quite amazing.

Larry Wile as Valdan, King of the Dwarves

Larry got noticed as the golden bearded, Dwarven King. His interaction with each and every person accordingly, acting with the authority and poise of a king once his identity was revealed. He paid attention to details, from his accent, his composure and powerful non verbal communications. Well done Larry!

Honorable Mention: Alice as her lady dwarf was hilarious. At one point, she had a table of people braiding her actual hair into the fake beard. She reveled in the glory of it, and welcomed us to stroke it and admire it's majesty.

  • Jeff M. and Katie M.

Jeff and Katie took the NPCs to the next level with their Dwarven Beards. Called "Majestic" in recaps, the quality and diversity of the beards helped the already well done racial roleplay by the NPCs even more convincing and helped the atmosphere to reach an almost staggering degree, compared to that of the common cheap costume store beards. The bar is set on beards and we have not seen one that looks so good and is wearable in a LARP. Thanks for your hard work guys!

  • The Baronial Manor

The Baronial Manor gets our vote this month. It was decorated well in the attic and especially the rooms downstairs. Between the Gaian altar, the roses, offerings of food and small details like rugs and everyday props, it felt like the home of royalty. Just as important, all OOG objects were carefully covered with IG chests and tapestries.
