Heroes rejoiced at the defeat of a once long-held enemy. The demon Ramular would no longer struggle to claim power in the world of the mortals and in time, they hoped the elves who were once cursed would be free of that tyrannical grasp. Amidst the revelry, Ilthryias had slipped away, not wanting to overstay his own welcome amongst the people. Without goodbyes or a word, he left from the celebration and relaxation, venturing to the home temporarily offered to him.

The grey-skinned elf sat alone in the manor house, ushering away servants who came to offer him the luxuries afforded to those of high standing. Instead he held himself in solitude and quiet respite. The ordeal of defeating the demon who caused his people so much strife and suffering was finally over, but for the prince, it was hollow. His home lay in ruin, reclaimed by nature; his people turned vile and resentful. Nothing remained for the man who had given everything.

“This place is where we must look,” the pale, gangly figure hissed into the hazy blue portal, “Creatures here know of what we seek…”

Three more cloaked figures emerged from the portal, slithering out of the decrepit shack and into the woods. The four strange beings left in different directions, seemingly to scour the lands for something they desired. The natural world around them twisted and mutated as they passed by; animals became unnatural beasts and plantlife twisted into grotesque monstrosities. A great mystery revolved around these creatures who felt so new to Arawyn and further still, their motives remained hidden.
