Goblins was created by keys (keys)
There have been a bunch of people who have mentioned to me they were thinking of creating a goblin. I've been thinking that it'd be fun to have a lot of goblins at one event. So anyone who has a goblin pc or was going to create one, this October event is when I was thinking, since its the event i'll actually be in NJ.

I'm sorry but my insanity is by choice.
There are no solutions,
There are only illusions.

Now why would we want to ruin a good event by having a whole lot of goblins running about?  Might I suggest a response of having a half dozen dwarves show up as a sort of extermination company?

If you mean OOG wagering, I feel obligated to point out that that's illegal gambling activity, and please take it off the KR forums if you must persist.

If you mean IG wagering, post it on the Dragon's Claw Inn board so that the announcement is made IG. But, I'm not sure what IG reason your character would have for making this book, since the challenge hasn't been made IG.

Naturally it is OOG, wet blanket Matt.  I believe if all the funds are given out, it is not illegal, witness the proliferation of March Madness pools, fantasy football/baseball leagues, and superbowl pools.
Modification - it is not illegal to smoke Cuban cigars, however importing them to the USA is.  Go figure.

The phrase that caused my alarm was "book is now being made". When you make a book, you generally intend to profit from it by taking opposing wagers at odds that (if you're doing it right) guarantee that there's some money left over for you once you've paid out all winning bets.

A pool is fine, but there shouldn't be odds offered in a pool since that could lead to either a surplus or deficit once the contest is decided - unless you get lucky and receive exactly the correct balance of wagers on those odds.

A little bird happened to mention to me that technically wagering anything of value is gambling, and bacon is most certainly something of value! As an alternative, I suggest that everyone bring a half-pound of bacon to the match, which we will simply cook and eat, and then, sated on bacon and bloodsport, we'll forget all about gambling...

Let's look at the situation this way:

Rothgar is a law-abiding visitor in Travance.  He would have no reason to hack up a goblin, unless he was acting in self defense.  Therefore I see no battle for sport between he and that goblin.  Sorry to disappoint Charlie and other would be wagerers.  My response to the increased goblin presence was simply the writer's opinion on how his character would have felt "overwhelmed" by the large numbers of goblins in one sitting.  At no time was it inferred that I wished to engage in the extermination of that goblin or another or its kind.

That being said, why don't we all bring bacon anyway since the presence of bacon is never a bad thing, unless it was first touched by an actual goblin?

This thread will now hopefully be concluded.

Bacon is legal tender as long as it's been cooked long enough at at least 350 degrees.

Use thick sliced fresh bacon, uncured
Preheat oven and cooking stone to 350 degrees
Place bacon on Stone for at least 20 minutes

Tender Bacon... completely legal that way.

To verify IG, I suggest you try paying your taxes with it. After the chancellory fully investigates your case, we'll tell you whether it was or not. If you cook it precisely as Mike Smith describes, I suspect it might be. Especially if it happens to be wrapped around a rare filet mignon at the time. You cool with that Chris, Damien?
