Also, some of you are becoming Vets now - and even if you're not - we always need people to run games! If you have a board game you want to play that no one nearby seems to be into, if you have a D&D campaign you want to feed some fresh blood into, if you have a favorite you just don't see on the schedule - please run it! If you GM enough player-hours, your admission is compensated!

I was wondering if there was anything in particular other than a title or such that it gives with regards to the convention, like a +1 bonus to resist con funk or something more tangible, like dibs on the chocolate fountain.

Also, if you want to RUN something, post here so other people know (and submit a GM form!)! We don't have to just do official KR stuff - you are welcome to run other events on your own!

Don't know exactly what I'm going to run at the next event, but I think I'll look for some input here. Here's what games I usually run:
*Stargate SG-1 (SilCORE rules), play as a Stargate team adventuring on strange worlds.
*Cyberpunk 2020 (Cyberpunk v3 rules), play in the gritty streets of Night City, fighting against the corporations. Think Blade Runner and you're not far off.
*Cyberpunk v3 (Cyberpunk v3 rules), play in the flashier, more cinematic New Night City, where the line between man and machine is all but gone. Think Ghost in the Shell and Bubblegum Crisis and you're not far off.
*Artesia: Adventures in the Known World (Fuzion), a wonderful fantasy setting, commonly the source of more roleplaying and intrigue games when I run it, but perfectly capable of hack and slash action.
*Mekton Zeta (Interlock), Giant Robots! Blast through space and alien worlds in giant robots with zany anime stylings.
*Heavy Gear (SilCORE), in the far future, on an abandoned colony, two polar factions battle for global supremacy. Action, intrigue, and even some biggish robots.
*Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy (Dark Heresy), in the grim darkness of the future, there is only war. And evil monsters from the warp that want to eat your soul. Battle against the forces of corruption at the behest of the Inquisition.
I generally only have time to officially run three games in all, so there's that. However, if enough people tell me they want a pick-up game for something, if I know now, I can make sure I have the materials I need to run it at the convention. So, what would you guys like to see?

Make SURE you say you are with Double Exposure, as we have a block of rooms set aside for the convention.
Sometimes when you call the hotel to book, the call bounces to the national number instead. Usually the person on the other end doesn't check the room blocks, which may be why they will say they are out of rooms. Ask them to double check the room block, and if they still say No, get their name and PM me, and we'll take care of it for you.

Ok, ok, ok...in case you didn't notice, the DEXCON 11 Schedule did NOT get posted in June.
We had a bunch of late submissions and general choas, as usual, and we've been working hard to finish it up. At the very latest, it will be posted on Monday, July 7th, but I'm trying to get it posted earlier. As you probably know, we try not to rush anything so that we don't end up correcting errors at the last minute.
Thank you to all of you concerned people who have sent us (usually humorous) emails asking about the schedule.
So the official scoop: "REAL SOON NOW..."

L140: ALARPA Combat System; "The DEXCON 11 Boffer Tournament". A collection of the greatest warriors from the past, present, and future gather to see who is the best of all times. Fighters will square off in one-on-one duels in a double elimination tournament to see who can emerge as the greatest LARP warrior of the con. Costuming and character play is heavily encouraged, but no special abilities, or magic will be in use. Armor may be work, but will not be counted. The tournament will run on a hit location system, not hit points or body. A true test of your skills. Friday, 12:00PM - 4:00PM; One Round; All Materials Provided. Beginners Welcome; Serious, 18 & Over ONLY.
Also, there are Rock Band and Guitar Hero events most evenings, including Friday night, which is "Formal" night:
Friday night (July 18, 2008) - the ladies of the Double Exposure Senior Staff are dressing in our finest. It's turned into a tradition, and once again, we are inviting you to join us.
That bridesmaid gown you've worn once, or the prom gown you want to give another whirl. your new ren garb or your favoritest, most comfortable corset - dress up and join the party!
Obviously, the gentlemen have jumped on board, and the fact that at least one of them brings out his tux for formal night raises the stake! Guys, come out and play too!
Note that our past GH Champion actually won while wearing a KFC bucket on his head, in tribute to the moment. Showing up for Friday, in general or to game, in garb (KR or otherwise) is both acceptable and encouraged!
And don't forget some of the tournaments are for prizes, such as $100 in the Dealer's Room - Guitar Hero, DDR, the annual Texas Hold'em tournament, etc.!

Hi everyone! We hope you are all as excited as we are about DEXCON 11; it promises to be our biggest convention ever!
Just wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow night (Wednesday, July 16th), we are giving away a bunch of fantastic prizes, including 2 8GB iPod Nanos AND a 16GB iPod Touch!!!
We WILL have some buffet tickets left over, so if you want to join us for Opening Ceremonies (dinner starts at 7:30PM, the presentation begins at 8:00PM), we MAY still be able to get you in for food at $20.00 each, first come, first served.
We look forward to seeing everyone this week!
>>>Vinny
Opening Ceremonies is Wed. (Tomorrow) night, the food is pretty good as well - if you have an all-convention pass (the normal registration through the website, with the KR discount), you are CERTAINLY welcome to stop by Wed. night for opening ceremonies, and then go home to come back later in the week! (We'd like you to stay, of course...)
