• Service Point Auction. In-Game items will be auctioned off to any players with service points.
• Another opportunity to see and hang out with your Knight Realms friends!
• Anyone who purchases extra build may self-teach themselves one skill for the following weekends event.
• 12 Awards will be presented to Knight Realms players.
Important Details:
Payment and Pre-Reg:
Three days prior to the event, I must plan the food for the event. Because of this, you must pre-register for this event. You do not need to pre-pay but you do need to commit if you are comming. Keep in mind that you will at that point be held responsible for the fee whether you show up or not.
Chinese Auction:
There will be a Chinese auction in which three prizes will be displayed next to jars. One jar is next to each item. You are given one ticket at entry to bid on which ever item you’d like. You can purchase additional tickets for one dollar each. Also you will receive 4 free tickets for each point of extra build you purchase.
Service Point Auction:
There will be three service point auctions. One for players who fall within the (1-10,000 SP Bracket), one for all players who fall within the (10,000-49,000)SP Bracket) and one for players with 50,000+. Cool, in-game items will be auctioned off. Character cards will be made available so you can see how many service points you have to work with. Details of the auction may change, if so we will post updates.
Self-Teach Skills:
Anyone who purchases at least one of the extra build will be aloud to self-teach their characters one skill, provided they have the pre-reqs and the build for the skill. The criteria are as follows:
• You must have all the normal pre-requisites
• You must have the build available. You may use build you earned at the Banquet.
• You may learn a Lower List, Lower List Skill, or Higher List Skill. You may NOT learn a Higher List.
• You may NOT teach yourself a skill you already know, or Body or Career Points. You must do this at an Event or Festival.
Awards:
Twelve awards will be presented to the winners of the Twelve categories. Also Director Accolade awards will be presented.
If you cannot attend:
If you cannot attend, but still wish to participate, you may pay the normal price listed above to receive the build, and learn a bonus skill, subject to the rules above. You may also have someone place Raffle Tickets on your behalf. You may not participate in any Service Point auctions without being present.
More to come:
Details about start times, food menu, alcohol, and when to start pre-reging, will be posted in this thread when we are ready.

6pm will be when I sign people in and let them into the hall to find thier seats. That process will probably take an hour and the ceremonies will start around 7pm.
Generally speaking don't show up too much earlier than that unless you need to change at the camp, or are staying over and need to situate your sleeping. If you have a particularly long drive and would like to come earlier just e-mail me to let me know.

Just send me an e-mail telling me you are coming.
By the way for everyone else, its getting rather close, so please look at the guest list and see if your friends are on the list, if not ask them if they are coming and let them know to get on the list if they are. Everyday I ask people if they are coming, they tell me yes, I ask them why they are not on the list yet and thier response is "what list?" ... ... ...

Yes, but I would make sure you work directly with Jason to make sure that it fits in with the new structure. That way there is less work for him.

You might consider fixing www.knightrealms.com/awards-banquet.html (linked to on the left hand side under Community)
It's still showing the info for 2010.

Ok everyone, as anticipated each year… here are the three main banquet Chinese Auction Items
$100 Game Stop Gift Card
This Prize is a gift card good for 100 dollars of Merchandise at Game Stop!
Game Stop offers one of the largest selection of video games, hardware and PC software titles around!
Strigrand Daelryth
Enchanted Sword
Near the end of the old world, Uelrogs army marched south of the great northern wastes and into the heart of Quinyaria. With certain defeat on their doorstep, the council of twelve rode out to warn Kormyre of the oncoming onslaught. Left behind to die defending their home where many honorable elves, one such was the captain of the Glyntyth’Tyr militia, Strigrand Daelryth. Many an elven folk-tale was woven about his blade. It was said that he cut through a thousand of Eulrog’s minions before he fell, and when he did, the connection between blade and master was so strong that a piece of his soul passed to the blade.
Time Lost Scroll
Long ago when time was a force, that mortals had not the sense to leave be, Chronomancy was a lore practiced by a few bold individuals. At some point in history, Chronomancy disappeared without a trace. It was rumored that the Keepers of the Lost Lore, from the Isles of Sevenlore, was the force responsible for its disappearance. It was also rumored that few remenants of the lore remained hidden in the world, in the form of powerful scrolls referred to in tales as The Time Lost Scroll.
Tales tell that the scroll had upon it minor and major glyphs. If the minor glyphs were translated aloud, the scroll would create minor ripples in time, effecting just seconds. How many times the scroll could do this, was unknown, but it was said that the major glyphs when read aloud would do one of two things. Either it could delve deep into the casters history and allow them to choose a path in life that they felt they wasted their time in, allowing them to retrieve the time that they lost devoting to that path. alternatively the major glyph could be used to erase the history of a tragic death from the caster. It is said that unleashing this power would likely consume the scroll, and destroy it in the process.

Alcohol Policy at the Awards Banquet
These are the same policies we had in effect at last years banquet.
Zero Tolerance
There will be a "Zero Tolerance" policy in effect for the banquet. If at any time a person is found to be in violation of this policy, they will be dealt with as prescribed in the section labeled "Disciplinary Action". There will be no favoritism, nor will there be any bending of the rules. The policy is the policy, and anyone who is in violation of it will be dealt with swiftly.
Type of Alcohol allowed at the Awards Banquet
There will be only beer, wine, and malt beverages (Smirnoff Ice, Mike's Hard Lemonade etc.) allowed at the Awards Banquet. No hard liquor is allowed.
Quantity of Alcohol allowed at the Awards Banquet
Each person who wishes to drink at the Awards Banquet may bring either 1 six pack of beer/malt beverages or 1 bottle of wine with them. You may not bring both a six pack of beer and a bottle of wine, it is one or the other. Do not bring more then that, because we will tell you to return it to your car.
Procedure for bringing Alcohol to the Awards Banquet
If you wish to bring/drink alcohol to the Awards Banquet, you must follow this procedure upon your arrival:
1. We will be set up inside of the area that is normally the "Bar" area inside of the inn. You must come to the table with the alcohol you brought with you.
2. We will check your picture identification to ensure that you are of legal age to drink. Upon doing that we will either stamp the back of your hand or give you a wristband to wear for the remainder of the evening. Do not remove that wristband or give it to anyone else.
3. We will then take labels and label the alcohol you brought with you with your name on them and a signature on them. Do not remove those labels.
Disciplinary Action
If someone is noted to be visibly intoxicated, they are cut off from all alcohol for the rest of the night. They are not to be permitted to drive home in the instance that they are visibly intoxicated. Anyone seen to be visibly intoxicated is suspended from KR for 1 month.
If someone is noted to be visibly intoxicated and is a disturbance for the banquet, they are immediately removed from the banquet and placed into a room to sober up. They are not to be permitted to drive home in the instance that they are visibly intoxicated. Anyone seen to be visibly intoxicated and a disturbance to the banquet is suspended from KR for 3 months.
If someone serves alcohol to a minor (knowingly or unknowingly) they will be immediately escorted from the banquet and asked to leave. That person will be suspended from KR for 6 months. In the event that alcohol is served to a minor, the local authorities will also be contacted.
If a minor consumes alcohol they will be asked to remain in a side room for the remainder of the banquet. They are not to be permitted to drive home that evening. That person will be suspended from KR for 6 months.
Spirit of the Policy
If at any point we feel that a person is violating the spirit of the alcohol policy, they will be dealt with based upon the severity of their actions.
Final Comments
I understand that this policy seems harsh, however everyone must bear in mind that this is a private function hosted on our property. There are no professional bartenders who are trained to cut people off when they get too intoxicated at this function. The policy on alcohol must reflect that fact and we must be prepared for that.

SP AUCTIONS
The brackets this year will be: 1 - 9,999 // 10,000 - 29,999 // and 30,000 +
SIGN-IN
Sign-in will be held from 5:00-7:00. Please be sure that you have arrived by then. I do realize that some of you have to be late because of special circumstances. Sign-in must go as quick as possible. There will be a table in front of the room. At the table, everyone should form a line and have their money ready. After you pay you'll shift over to the right and one person will give you your card; shift to the right again and one person will sign your card for the build and give you your auction tickets.
AUCTION TICKETS
You get one for coming and four extra for each point of build you purchase.. If you wish you may purchase more for one dollar each. Make sure you separate all your tickets and write your name on the back of each one of them before putting them into one of the three containers.
PLEASE LISTEN
With so many people it can be hard to hear what's going on if your talking, and that's fine as long as no one is speaking at the microphone. Please, whenever you hear someone speaking at the microphone please, immediately get quiet and listen. This is extremely important for both the flow of the ceremonies and the respect given to the speaker. I can't stress this enough. We didn't have a problem with this at all in previous years, and Id like it to remain that way. Thanks for your cooperation in this.
TIME
It starts at 7pm. You can come to sign in as early as 5:00. Please, be there on time! Try to factor possible traffic into your travel schedule to be safe. The banquet is four hours from 7pm to 11pm, and everything is fit into a tight time schedule. If you arrive after 7:30 you will start to miss VERY important aspects of the banquet and if you come even later than that you may miss the dinner. So please make every possibly effort to be at this function on time. If you are nominated for an award and will be late please make sure I know so I can push back that particular award until after you arrive.
COMMON COURTESY
This is definately an event to have a blast and talk with all of your friends. And for 75% of the event it's expected and encouraged. However, please make sure that when someone steps up to the microphone and begins to speak, (especially for the awards part of it) you give that speaker your utmost respect by paying attention and listening quietly.
STAYING OVER NIGHT
If you are not staying over night, we ask that you depart the campground shortly after the banquet is over. Space is first come first serve, and I will not be able to save anyone sleeping spaces. If you are staying over, please be sure to lend a hand in the morning cleaning up before you go. If in doubt on what to do, please ask me.
ANNOUNCING THE WINNER
You might be chosen to come to the floor and read the envelope for an award. If this happens, please make sure that you do so in the following manor:
“The nominees for (name award) are… (Read each name clearly and loudly and wait for applause for each nominee),
"and the winner is…” then open envelope and read winner.
The brackets this year will be: 1 - 9,999 // 10,000 - 29,999 // and 30,000 +

Will you be telling us the items available for the SP auctions prior to the banquet?

There will be two types of SP auctions. Regular and raffle. I will explain the difference as well as post the raffle sp items sometime over the next few days.

In the past, two players were able to combine service points to bid on a single item. Is that still possible this year?

I have spoken to James about this, and no, players will not be allowed to combine Service Points to bid on items.

Last year there was nothing below 1000 SP in the auction. Will that also be the case this year?

That was exactly what was posted last year, Dave, and nothing in the 1-9,999 bracket had a starting bid of less than 1,000.

If you have less than 1,000 service points to spend, you are better advised saving them to convert to Build. As it is, given the ceiling for this category is 9,999 - the final bid is likely to be over 1,000. (If not, it's probably not worth bidding on...)

Save them up and if you don't get something at an auction (cause a mean boyfriend bids higher then you or whatever) then make it into an item. Nothing to gripe about, just save them up for next year :) I give them out all the time for helping set up feast.

That, too. .
Also, remember that there's Fates now, which are a good outlet for SPs. Last year, I made the conscious choice not to bid on anything, so that I could save a SPs for Fates instead... Some of them are pretty nice, and / or can be used to help out starting PCs.

Not to mention acquiring Ceemonial/Sorcery components. SPs are also given for helping wash dishes during the Event in the Kitchen, and for miscellaneous help. And about that mean boyfriend, Kelly...

Last I checked, Significant Others were not on the list of things you could purchase with SP. (Try the Illicit Goods list...)

SP Auction
For the SP auction there will be two methods. We will be doing the traditional auction. In addition to the normal SP auction we will be doing a raffle style auction for each of the three brackets. This raffle style sp auction will take place prior to the traditional one.
How It Will Work
There will be two items in the low and mid category and high category. Those six items will be on display and will have containers next to them, similar to the three main auction items. You can use the SP on your card to buy tickets for this raffle. You buy these tickets during the halftime break of the banquet. You may only win something that fits within your bracket and if you win one of these items you may not bid on items through the traditional sp auction. Winners will be drawn at the beginning of each SP bracket, and the winner must be present in order to win, otherwise a new winning ticket will be drawn. The ratio of SP for tickets is as follows:
Tickets
Low Bracket = 100 SP for 1 Ticket
Mid Bracket = 1000 SP for 1 Ticket
High Bracket = 4000 SP for 1 Ticket

Is it possible to spend enough SP on tickets for the raffle to change your bracket for the traditional auction, or is your bracket determined at the beginning of the night?
