Rules Update: Altars & Mass was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
Due to the recent changes with Superior skills, the following update are being made:
1) The 4th Rank benefit for Mass (being granted a Divine Resist) is being removed from the game. The current 5th Rank benefit will now be the 4th Rank benefit.
2) The maximum rank of Altar is being reduced from 5th to 4th, to bring it in line with the common ranking system within the Knight Realms rules.
3) 5th Rank Ceremonies will now require a 4th Rank Altar to perform.
If you currently have a 5th Rank Altar, it will be automatically converted to a 4th Rank one. See the Director or any other officer for a refund of the lost rank (120 Gold, or 2 Faith Points, as appropriate for the kind of altar). The owner of the Item Card for the altar has the final say in who receives the refund, in gold or points. The refund will be written on your character card when the old item card is surrendered, and a new one is written to replace it.
These changes go into effect immediately, and will be entered into the March 2012 edition of the Rulebook.

The lack of Rank V altars changes the success percentage of Ceremonies. Is this intended or will a quick fix be provided?

Seeing as there is no cap for success on Ceremonies currently, I don't see where this is an issue.

One of the modifiers is the difference between the rank altar required and the one used. The dropping of R 5 altars means the chances of success for higher Rank ceremonies is reduced.
That is the issue.

As of now, there is no plan for a hotfix. It will be addressed when Ceremonies are redone.
