Legacy Websites - Removal on Sunday, October 28th. was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
The previous versions of the Knight Realms Websites & Forums have been hanging around in limbo since moving to the current setup, as a backup measure in case anything went wrong, or old PMs, posts, etc. were needed.
Because old web apps can still be exploited by hackers, and because it still takes up room on the server, I will be taking down these archives on Sunday, October 28th. This includes the old version of the website from before the current one, the old ST forums and site, and the old forums from before the Great Corruption of Feb. 2008.
For most of you, this will have no impact. This only matters if you've been a player since before February of this year (2012), and still have PMs from the old website that you want to record before they are deleted. (Chances are, if you haven't used them since the switch back in Feb, you don't need them any more...)
If you've joined Knight Realms since February of this year, there's nothing to worry about - you were never on the old boards, so there's nothing to go back and check for you.
If you want to go back and check your old forums accounts, the URLs are:
www.knightrealms.com/Components/Forums/
and
storytellers.knightrealms.com/smf/
Note that you can NOT sign up for an account on these any more, and I will not be granting access to anything else on these boards - they are frozen.
If you have any questions, please post here or PM me, and I will do my best to assist.
Thank you!

There is now a way to bulk save your old PMs from the old Forums.
1) Log in.
2) Go to My Messages
3) Got to Actions
You will see an "Export ALL PMs" option now.
The file will be in XML format - it may need to be opened in a browser or word processor that will reformat it for you, but the data will be safe on your computer. If I can come up with a way to make the export more easily readable, I'll post it here.

Way to spend hours yesterday copy/pasting them into a word processor, Vince.

hmmm...it says my account doesn't exist. But it did! Does that mean...I created some sort of time paradox?

It seems that there is a frame of time between the new and old forums don't exist.
I'm missing some posts on the ST forums that I know I made before the switch.

There wouldn't happen to be an archive for deleted posts as well, would there? It occurred to me to look for the public posts made before the last Pesmerga event in '08 but the IG boards only go back to '09.
A shame, since there was some gold in that thread.

No archive on posts - those were lost, IG, when Presmerga destroyed the boards.
The intent of this is only to allow for PMs to be exported - I will not be addressing issues with posts.

That's fair, I just figured if they were there, it didn't hurt to ask. I just found a PM that reminded me of all the gold in that thread.
