Rules Update: Character Retirement / Final Death was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
The amounts for build and wealth upon retirement and / or final death of a PC have been updated, as follows:
Character's Ending Build
Character's Ending Wealth
This is intended to remove the OOG penalty for taking a death - now, you receive the same amount at retirement, regardless of how many deaths have been taken.
Character's Ending Build
- A player receives 33% of the total build earned by that character to invest in a new PC.
- A player may not retire a PC into an already existing PC.
- A player may not retire multiple PCs into a single new PC, unless the additional build total earned will be less than 50.
- When a player retires a PC, she can choose to have the PC die in some kind of glorious, tragic, or whatever, finale, or you can choose to have the character continue living, at which point the character can only ever appear at the discretion of the Director. In either case, the exact outcome must be approved by the Director.
Character's Ending Wealth
- To establish the eligible amount of carry over wealth, the characters banked gold is multiplied by 1.1 (granting a 10% bonus) and then added to the amount of coin handed in. Additionally, all items handed in will have their value in coin determined and that number added to the eligible amount. The total amount of ending wealth you receive will then be multiplied by 33%, and that amount will be available for the player to spend on normal equipment and non-magical items at character creation.
- In addition, a PC's whose retirement wealth is greater than 100gp will be allowed to purchase one magic item, to be designed using PC rituals and costs provided by the Sorcery Higher List.
- The remainder of the unspent wealth will be placed into the new character's bank or, at the ability of logistics to practically accommodate you, given as coin.
This is intended to remove the OOG penalty for taking a death - now, you receive the same amount at retirement, regardless of how many deaths have been taken.
