Yesterday I inspected all the long benches in the Inn, and found 25 of the 35 old ones that need to be salvaged for parts along with 5 of the short benches, as the fasteners used to make them more than a quarter century back are a hazard to flowing garb and dress pants, not to mention a hazard to puncture and scraping wounds. James and I want garb friendly seating by the banquet.
We made 16 long and 9 short to date, and yesterday I varnished (first coat) the tops of 15 of the long benches (the 16th was in the Adventurer's Guild and I could not move it myself).
Between Christmas and New Years, I will have the legs (56 pieces, as two of the benches are beyond any salvage) for all the refurbished benches cut and on site, ready for painting. Ron will do the V-notch. Then I will do the same for the 1x4 braces, 48 pieces 5 feet long, 10 pieces 2 1/2 feet long, and 224 pieces 9 inches long.
All must be painted, and it works best if the painting is done before assembly. Any help the next two weeks would be appreciated as the drop dead date is 3 days before the Banquet.

I should be able to help on the third or the fourth if there's still work to do at that time.

Baroness: "I think this sounds like an excellent lesson to be taught outside."
