Looks like I might be able to attend the week portion.
Are we required to write characters that are students in the Academy? Could I write up a travelling merchant/craftsperson who is visiting the Academy for a few days to sell his wares?
Thanks!

All PCs should be students within the academy. But if you came from a merchant family, that would not be unreasonable.

All characters will be able to experience Bleed from their normal PCs during the alt portion of the event. The mechanics are as follows:
The Bleed
Once per two hours, the PC may push their passenger PC's consciousness into the forefront of their Alt character. This lasts for five minutes once done. Other Alt characters would view the things being said by you as illogical and strange, though their passenger PCs may fully be aware of what is said, and they may choose to activate their Bleed in order to sync with one another and communicate back and forth about the situation for a brief amount of time. The Alt character will retain no memory of the bleed, and just treat it as dissociation.
At any point, a character may Bleed freely when interacting with Kyari.

Will our normal player characters be able to tell who is "piloting" the students? Or will we not be able to tell unless they bleed and tell us?

The only indication is if the characters bleed and state such.

If you wanted to play both PCs during the weekend event, can you just choose one PC to be the "bleeder" and the other PC have no knowledge of what had happened?
