I was in a weird mood coming from about 17 hours all together of listening to speeches, voting on resolutions, amendments to resolutions, and long winded supports for resolutions that everyone was going to vote yes on anyway.  I had gotten very little sleep the two night before as the first night was someone from my district trying amataur subterfuge on a 16 year long Larper hoping to figure out if which, if any, executive board position I was running for.  So Saturday was pretty much deflation time for me, sorry I wasn't around more often.

However, I still had a good time:
1)   Planning the Great Psalm experiment of 1208
2)   Becoming a born again druid (of sorts)
3)   Giving a Chronicler Mass (impromtu, hope it was good enough)
4)   Great Weather!
5)   With only one official meeting, I still found myself busy :-)
6)   Seeing everyone!
7)   Getting some decent sleep after 2 nights of very little sleep.
8)   NPC shift... it was a great time, 5 silver a dominate, worshipping the god of Magic --Apollo, getting ready to sacrifice Aliester
9)  (still NPC shift) Chaos Warriors!  For Chaos!!!!!  HA-HA-HA!!! *Runs away*

won't be able to make it back from Colorado for the anniversary event, but I'll be back in May... in fact I'd say that event is booked. ;-)

Friday
I thought Joe Bondi was the snoring champ of the world. Let alone KR.  Then I spent a night in the same cabin with Dave.  Cameron does not even register in the same category.

Saturday

Walking to the Inn for breakfast and hearing screams coming from Zahir’s abode.  Charge in to help, only to set off  a waylay trap followed by a damage trap that decked me.  At least he looked sheepish after.

Imprisoning Lord Shen – twice.

Research is really under rated.

You gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince.

Quan Liu drunk on Absinth and trying to borrow money to buy emeralds.

Low point – finding out the ovens were not calibrated and we had to punt for chicken.

Lower point – the fire ant bite on my large toe got infected and after leaving early on Sunday, stopping home briefly, then spending 3 hours in the emergency room.  Still cannot bend it and walking is very painful.

Sleeping with a wool hat on, gosh it was almost as cold as September 06.

No one attacked our cabin, which admittedly was weak and out of the way, either night.

Sunday

Hitting Alex' green NPC for over 400 damage, then someone strikes him for 3, dropping him.

Chris, Damien, Dave and Mike’s traveling whatever show.  Sunday usually has some silly things going on, but this was excellent.

Realizing that giving queen’s odds was a bit much.

Wow so much so I'll just begin...

Friday night Hookah...best suggestion ever!  Thank you Luis!
"Oh look, the town is going somewhere, may we should go with them...but the hookah!!"

Fading into a soothing rain induced sleep...
BANG BANG "Zahir!!"
*Slam head on ceiling*
"You awake?"
"I am now."

Using skills I haven't used since I learned them to catch a very quick rogue...who stole Yngwie's guitar.
Angelica is now my favorite Tellinghast and Yngwie is on the bottom of the list.
Trade Council: that was the best ingame meeting I have ever been in...and quickest. :P
After council hookah!!
Blah bla blah urrghhh gurgle POISON!! *A drunk Mother Quin trying to cast a spell*
"Hey Zahir...did you know I am 2 antrim's tall?"

Awesome market fair!! It looks to be getting better each time!!! Thanks to everyone who supported Cerra with their purchases.
Beautiful weather on Saturday!!

"Zahir, Lord Shen is attacking the town."
"...Is he blocking the bathroom?"
"I don't think so."
"Then I don't see a problem."

.....Sack of Crows....

On a side note I would like to thank every single person who has and continues to help in Cerra's fundraising.  I am continually amazed and touched at how much of a family KR feels like every time I go. Thanks to those known and unknown benefactors.  ;)

Oh how could I forget this conversation...

Rosa: I'm glad we're on better terms now Thomas.

How could I have forgotten? - When I saw Jon (Antrim) walking out with a steaming bowl of water, I realized someone was going to be treated to the Lord Shen making soup method of learning Willpower.  Unfortunately for Tyran (Paul) he kept his right hand (and he is right-handed) in it too long.  Unlike him, when I felt the severe discomfort, I stopped short of getting a first degree burn.

Unlike you, I was caught up in the RP of the moment and actually forgot about the pain, because of the intensity of the scene. ;) Many thanks to Jon for making my lesson as real as possible and actually showing me what it really takes for Willpower to work and it's heavy IG significance.

It is only fitting that Paul should succeed where others fail... I imagine the scene went like this (Sorry Jon for casting you as a reverand mother...)

                REVEREND MOTHER
                    (using The Voice)
              Now you come here.

Paul finds he cannot help but obey her, yet he
    fights her controlling him.

                          PAUL
                    (inner voice)
              She's using The Voice.
                    (out loud)
              No.

    She sees him struggling.

                    REVEREND MOTHER
                    (inner voice)
              Some strength there. Surprising!
                    (out loud)
              Come here.

The Reverend Mother holds up a green metal cube.

                REVEREND MOTHER (CONT'D)
See this... Put your right hand in the
              box.

Paul stares at the hole in the box.
--
                          PAUL
              What's in the box?

                    REVEREND MOTHER
              Pain.

Just then, she raises one hand to his neck. Paul
sees a glint of metal. He tries to back away.

                REVEREND MOTHER (CONT'D)
                    (The Voice)
STOP! Put your hand in the box.

Paul's hand goes in. Fear passes over his face.

                          PAUL
                    (inner voice)
              The Voice again.

                    REVEREND MOTHER
I hold at your neck the gom jabbar. Don't
pull away or you'll feel that poison. A
Duke's son must know about many poisons --
              this one kills only animals.

                          PAUL
Are you suggesting a Duke's son is an
              animal?

                    REVEREND MOTHER
Let us say I suggest you may be human.
Your awareness may be powerful enough to
              control your instincts. Your instincts
will be to remove your hand from the box.
If you do so you will die. You will feel
an itching -- there... see? Now the
              itching becomes burning... heat, upon
              heat, upon heat.

                          PAUL
                    (whispering)
              It burns.

                    REVEREND MOTHER
              SILENCE... SILENCE.

                          PAUL
                    (inner voice)(struggling to compose
                    himself)
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total
obliteration. I will face my fear... I
will permit it to pass over me and through
              me.
--
The Reverend Mother moves her face up to his. Her
ancient face with its metal teeth gleaming inches
away breathes hotly. She is smiling.

                    REVEREND MOTHER
              You feel the flesh crisping?

36.  THE HAND - PAUL'S MENTAL IMAGE

Paul's inner mind sees his hand on fire with all
sorts of sores. The skin is bubbling.

37.  INT. JESSICA'S CHAMBER - CASTLE CALADAN - NIGHT

                    REVEREND MOTHER
              Flesh dropping off.

38.  THE HAND - PAUL'S MENTAL IMAGE

He pictures this. The destruction of his hand is
complete -- now only blood spurts out and burns.

39.  INT. JESSICA'S CHAMBER - CASTLE CALADAN - NIGHT

    Paul's face registers extreme pain.

                          PAUL
                    (cannot help the explosion)
              THE PAIN!

                    REVEREND MOTHER
NO!! ENOUGH!! Kull wahad! No woman child
ever withstood that much. I must have
wanted you to fail. Take your hand out of
the box and look at it, young human.... Do
              it!

Paul pulls his hand out of the box. No sign of
anything wrong. He turns his hand, flexes his
fingers. He looks to the Reverend Mother.

                REVEREND MOTHER (CONT'D)
                    (explaining)
Pain by nerve induction... A human can
resist any pain. Our test is crisis and
              observation.

                          PAUL
I see the truth of it.

I had a great event, even though I walked out a bit sick.  Some highlights include:

-Trying to get a sample of some strange substance...only to have Janus incinerate it just as I was about to collect it, then trying to scrape what I could from a sword.
-Running like hell out of the fading keep, only to realize that some people had been left behind.
-Staying behind to look for bodies after the keep was gone, walking through the weather-appropriate mist (gotta love when the weather plays along with plot) where the keep used to be.
-Realizing that the two people we were looking for and thought dead were actually alive and well, and the emotional ride that took Galen through.
-"Is that a lantern, or are you another damn Valosian?" "Um, it's a lantern..."
-"Galen, that thing looks disgusting.  Why don't you put it away?" "But...it's so interesting!"
-As I was drifting off to sleep, the rain made me think I was hearing footsteps, and a certain someone's snoring made me think some NPCs were getting into growling like I do sometimes.  Several tense moments passed until I figured out what was actually going on.
-Main mod was awesome.  A great sense of danger, desperation, and overall fear, made better by the mysterious disappearance of various people throughout the course of the mod.
-Walking away from main mod, having nearly gotten into a shouting match with someone most likely higher up on the food chain than Galen, and barely being able to walk back as a result.

Lowlight:
-Not anticipating the sudden drop in temperature on saturday night and getting sick as a result :(

And as an added note, holy cow that jerky went fast, and so did those omelets.  :o

Well for a weekend that had forecasters reporting the miserable I think  it turned out quite nice...the rain friday seemed to keep cabin raiders at bay and I actually slept for my first time at KR since joining...

Highlights....My first Mass - who would have thunk church was so much fun (Mother Quinn you get no points your dance after Mass was impeccable but during the festivities - shrugs and walks away...

Meeting Dr Hicks...still upset I did not get to kiss a frog...although it would have been better if it was a gopher M.W.

Victor going swimming in the river and getting to wear the greatest wig of all time

The Vegtables, The Stuffing, The Brownies...did someone say there was chicken somewhere??? Heard it was a good thing I never found any!

getting to join in at least something on main mod since joining

The greatest kiss that almost should have been but never was...You two were great sports during our NPC shift, and DAVE your dancing almost mirrors that of Mother Quinn!

Finally to all of those people that pulled double NPC shift late Saturday night thank you. I owe each and everyone of you...it really meant a lot. And Derek How you fell asleep in front of MW and I in mid sentence still has me shaking my head in disbelief
