KR 10th Anniversary Highlights! was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
The tale begins on Thursday night for some, but I arrived Friday noonish...
"mrrglrlrlrmgrrr!!!"
"OK, that's enough, guys."
"mrrglrlrlrmgrrr!!!"
"We need to get it out of our systems before Lay-On."
"mrrglrlrlrmgrrr!!!"
"We are NOT Murlocs..."
"mrrglrlrlrmgrrr!!!"
The Javelin Assembly line, and the resulting fun it allowed.
"It's a trap!" I don't know how many times I saw this repeated in various forms, from various people, over the weekend, and it never got old.
All of the wonderful new combinations of players and PCs that came out, if even for one event. Sometimes the charm was knowing you would never see such a gem again.
Amber and Jackie: "Wait... did you two just... swap PCs?"
Being told that someone mistook Luis for me under the Jax outfit.
Londwynian Cavaliers. "Excuse me, do you know what time it is?"
The relatively nice weather. What was forecast to be sucktacular was not bad, only raining on Sat. night for a few hours, and at a thematic time at that.
Feast was excellent, as usual for a Hill-Produced meal. Thank you, Liz & Lisa!

Overall, it was a great deal of fun. Memorable moments:
GROK!! or however Kendrick spells it.
Jackie and Amber switching roles. Raveena Talon Indeed!
In the kitchen, OOC, after the main event was over, seeing the face of Alex B after telling him I really enjoyed the understated way he played his character.
BEST MOMENT: Teresa S as the Goblin crone offering Mike Janus' Hobbit a silver coin that was wrapped in leaves. Mike opened it, picked it up and Teresa leaned in and whispered "15 poison" in his ear. Mike falls sideways. Teresa, without lifting up either foot, appeared to be jumping up and down, fingered her dagger, saw the look I gave her, and said in a low voice "Oh, someone should call a healer, I guess."
Rob, as Sir Terrence, telling me to build a boat since I am the quartermaster. Told me I had until nightfall.
I'm selling all sorts of potions and armor, not to mention weapons, but no one was buying...
Getting killed around 3 AM Saturday morning because I did not know the verbals to the spells.
Sonya as the kite lady berserker. Luis as a Cat. Malcolm as a Cat.
Wally enamored by spears. I forcast bad things happening in the future.
Seeing Kwilder and Br Malcolm OOG in the kitchen, and unable to resist saying "Malcolm, Malcolm" and the ensuing laughter.
Excellent feast
Kudos to the staff, all of whom toiled hard and seemed to enjoy themselves.
Geoff screwing up being enfeebled, but to see him run off screaming was worth it.
Sam drooled nicely.
It was cold Saturday night. Bottom was an insulite, sleeping bag, and doubled flannel sheets. Then flannel sheets (doubled), two wool blankets, sweatshirt, and a thermal cotton nightshirt and it took a bit to warm up. Slept with a wool caop on as well as wool socks.
it wouldn't be a KR event without the rain.
Sunday morning, Thomas Ahlman wondering where the brewery/distillery was that advertised "Really cheap F@$#ing rum" and Fr Edwin suggesting that his ask Br. Malcom where the brewery was located, as he probably know every one in the Barony. Thomas doing just that and discovering Malcolm was a partner
in the business. Made the rum from corn, which is not technically rum, and Malcolm suggested that's why they call it really cheap - 8 silver a cask.
Knowing better than to chase after Matt Magnus' gargoyle.
Fr Edwin asking Apollo to teach identify Item. Him telling me to get a magic item not my own. I spend fifteen minutes scrounging one up, only to realize he was going to teach me the spell, and I needed to learn the skill...
Quaz - how was Spamalot?
I'll probably think of more later.

This weekend all around was quite awesome.
The friendships, as always was awesome.
The laughter, was quite awesome.
The makeup on everyone, was doubly quite awesome.
The roleplay, comical at times, serious at others, was awesome.
Accidentaly poking people in the lower legs with a stick as I was feeling my way after being blinded by the mercury poison was awesome, though I sincerely apologize to those who were victim to it.
Playing something completely different than Kwildar, but yet, in some ways, oddly similar was quite definitely awesome. (Though I lamented playing 'Yet another pacifist', one must understand that Kwildar is certainly not the pacifist he once was)
Jeramy, the hooka and Larrack's aftermath- Priceless.
Everyone's nicknames for Larrack, wonderful. (Though much of it was to Larrack's chagrin until he hit the hooka)
Theresa S's Goblin (Grushnak, was it?): "Catfish!"
Larrack: "CATFISH!!"
Diane's Hobgoblin, Shinda: "You are a good, strong warrior!"
Larrack: "Whaaaat!?"
Larrack, the cowardly, yet extremely stubborn water mage Kitiaren finding himself in the thick of most every troubling situation. Amazing.
A slightly off-the-wall concept, that required no bending of any of the new rules (Thank the gods that there's not a word of a fear of water in the new Kitieran rules), a godsend.
Mentally berating the stubborn Cat for not just dropping the large bottle of hydroargentym and taking his antidote when he first could have.... Wonderful.
Larrack picking up a sense of purpose and duty when being pulled through the Focus, after berating Sirax for failing him twice, which led to the above... Amazing. Zach, the resurrections all weekend were very interesting to watch!
I am very thankful at having Nyads around to be fascinated by at every time Larrack either of them.
Kwildar forgetting his customary scarf, becoming very self-conscious, and trying to cover his neck at all times. Thankfully for him, no one appeared to have noticed.
Roleplay with Brother Malcolm McBride. It's always intense, especially when you throw an Andorran gypsy into the mix. -- As an aside, seeing Kwildar's first initiated hug literally bring one of the people he looks up to to tears, while Kwildar was praying to be Andorra's vessel of compassion, in a long meditative prayer session to open the Compassion domain, absolutely amazing. Geoff and JimBob, you two are incredible people.
Kwildar, Carlos and Zahir, as Kwildar cleans the Monastery walls of some half-literate Glommite and Agauran writings. Kwildar spills a little water as he pours it on his sleeve. Despite the serious situation, Chris stays very true to his racial roleplay and berates Kwildar for the spillage. Nice!
Sonya, Zach, Kate, I just want to thank all three of you for helping Kwildar do something special in his upkeep of his weekly vigil. It meant so much to him.
Oh, and the Kwildarism of the weekend. "I am confused. I see nothing wrong with the gods being... Happy."

I just wanted to comment on this one. I'm always jokingly berating myself for being the third 'Brother Malcolm' in the game, and Charlie just fed right into it in that moment.

Being around Jackie when people leave chalk around the monastery.
Having 2 days when I didn't have to worry or care about any of the problems that were going on.
Sunday more than making up for my break.
Getting bullied by Alex, Matt, and Chris every time they saw me.
Sam, then me stealing from the Quartermaster everytime Charlie had his head down, or got up and walked away from the table. Hobbit polearms for the win!

KROG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The players not knowing who we were emerging from the forest Friday night started the chaos and we kept it coming all event.
Giving so much trouble to the Enax clergy, and they deserve credit for taking it so well.
Deciding to destroy the boats and the town never figuring it out was us was a chuckle we got to share with staff.
Being an ogre-bomb, even if it didn't work out the way we wanted.
Discussing the clock shield was fun, as was trying everything, and I do mean everything, to get the crypt door open.
Learning the downside of loud celebrations. It helps the bad guys find you.
The many cringes brought on by my open affection for Agaura
Toss the hobbit is always good sport
Watching Elyse scream and not back down from the whole town while we lay dead.
Alex shivving Zach in the kitchen in front of the lord.
Seeing the reprecussions of Andy's well-placed psionic intensifications
Murder, Death, Kill!, Murder, Death, Kill!
Trying to eat a whole bowl of food at the feast to keep it real as an ogre.
Trashing the monestary and dropping everyone there
Wearing a Ric Flair t-shirt with a soak of 3. It's true. Matt White wrote up the card. I swear. Would I lie?
And finally......KROG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole event was an amzingly refreshing experience. It was so much fun to take everything back to that time when nobody had an upper hand and being one profession was just as good as any other one. As I told the guys there, this would be a really great idea to make this an annual event. its like pressing reset but without having to really do it.
Everyone who didn't go missed out on a great time. Its a whole different dynamic but the thrill of the unknown was definately there, and that hasn't been that way for me for a long time.

One more thing - I pride myself on being able to sleep almost anywhere, but Saturday night when MaryBeth was looking for Tori, and found her sleeping (wrapped in warm blankies and such) under the table on the front porch of the Inn brought things into the proper perspective. :) She insisted she wasn't sleeping, but MB insisted she was and we agreed. After asking me please to mind my feet (which were close to Tori's head) MB moved on.

I normally refrain from posting here because other people cover what was fun at the event fairly well, but I just love H.P. Lovecraft too much not to say anything about an event that essentially mashed Innsmuth and R'lyeh into one fish filled concoction of ridiculousness. Those of you who decided this was the event to miss in the three events in six week series really missed out. Those of you who worked really hard to pull this event off, my appreciation and thanks.

Im really glad I got to be a part of making this even if I had very little to do with the true nightmare, the logistics of the whole thing. Nobody missed a beat, from the people that have been involved for ten years to the brand new players. You all put your best face forward and brought the world alive this time and it really paid off in my opinion, thank you. (It made me forget about having to buy a new car)
My event really began with the makeup job by Julia H. She endured my malformed nudity and lame jokes for some time to make me look like something I could really get into, thanks buddy.
The prep talk and idea swapping with Marybeth and Tori helped me realize what the dryad had been going through for the past couple of years and really put me in the zone. Thank you both.
The horn and the actual terror it created in me and the other players.
The way that people so seamlessly transitioned into their new characters and made the entire weekend take on an air of believeability.
The assistance I got in logistics about my first attempt at designing a mod really helped and I appreciate it. The results I feel were well recieved, despite the carnage.
The fact that it was a one time event created in my opinion much more realistic portrayals about what a person might do in a desperate situation. In Travance at a normal event the laws are so easily and harshly enforced that it stiffles roleplay from uncouth characters.
Im a fan of PvP but we all know how hard it is to prevent hurt feelings. It was well managed by the players this event and showed how PvP can make the game a lot of fun.
Awesome event, and its all thanks to everyone that was there.

Ok, quick highlights because if I go into my usual detail I will write way too much. To put it simply: This event was amazing, there needs to be more of them, and NPCing is a lot more fun then I anticipated.
-'Random Woodland Creatures' was a fun first half of the night. Druids= awesome people.
-Exploding Lizards was amusing but too many rocks around when kamikazing for glowsticks...
-Morning as ...Calamarii(?) was great. The unique make-up jobs Kristen did were amazing, period.
-Assassin Vine wasn't so bad, the OOG conversations of the origin of certain groups was entertaining.
-My random Goblin NPC working in the kitchen (Was funny how the kitchen was run by goblins this event...) and watching everyone beat the crap out of each other outside and deciding promptly the air inside was better than outside.
-'Baby Calamarii' and scampering around gathering and handing off spears to everyone
-Final Mod chase and watching the sea battle afterwards
-Morning NPC's for Travance not as fun though playing the goblin rogues opressed by the ogres was fun, greater elementals weren't so bad either.
I made a lot more friends and everything was set up rather well. Kudos to those who set up the event, and a good show to everyone who played their new characters with their own unique flair from the norm. It was experiemntal, and I'd say it was a huge success. Can't wait to see everyone in May!

This was my second event, and simply put it was amazing! The entire weekend was a lot of fun and it is going to be hard to narrow things down into a reasonably sized list, but I'll try. Here goes:
Overall
1.) Actually playing a character that could fight (and trying to stifle the urges to run away from things)
2.) Getting to know so many of the wonderful people attending, both players that have been coming forever and have so much experience, and the few new and inexperienced players like me. Everyone helped make this event so enjoyable and outstanding.
Fri
1.) Being abandoned in the woods by our leader and told to find shelter, only to be the first group (there were five of us) to get to the inn and having to fight all the random creatures by ourselves.
2.) The ridiculous fight in the woods at night where instead of being a healer, I got to protect them from harm.
Sat
1.) Random walks through the woods with Sonya and Elias with most ending up with either fighting for our lives, or running away from huge groups of monsters
2.) All the KITE interactions which included: the dryad casting gust so the kite could fly, getting crucial information out of the dryad because he liked Sonya's kite, an air elemental flying the kite for about five minutes, and Brendan as an NPC who challenged Sonya to a "Kite Off"
3.) Liz Hill (as a goblin) singing "It's beginning to look a lot like fish-man, everywhere we go" , Rob "For the love of God stop that!"
4.) Main mod and all the fishy excellence that came with it
Sun
1.) reverting back to Travance and enjoying an elemental fight as Cael sitting on the porch drinking wine and eating rock candy, protected by elemental shields, and just watching as Dr. West screams, "Wait I'm a water mage!" and then runs after the fire elemental hands waving, full of spell packets, screaming, "Come back here I can kill you!"
2.) The great, and sometimes comical, teaching lessons with Alia (she taught me math!)
There were so many wonderful things about this weekend that i could just keep going, but I think I have maybe written too much as it is. : ) I would just like to say one last thing: Thank You to everyone that made this event so enjoyable for me and I hope to see you all at the next event.

Even though I haven't been here that long, this event was definitely refreshing. Playing a different PC was a good experience.
First shot of the event (as an archer), *shoots wally in the eye* Sorry wally... >.<
So DARK, my night vision sucked and was made worse by bright lights.
BUT it was still cool, so its all good
*stealth MB and Tori* Scared the life out of me at first cause i thought something was going to jump out and kill us >.< lol
Protect the crystal! *creepy and scary fish people sounds coming from the darkness of the forest* Again, those sounds added to the fact that the dark creepy forest freaked me out a bit >.< was so good for RP though which is good
Druid!
Saturday morning was interesting with the wolves, gargoyles, rats and other creatures attacked us while we were making and eating breakfast. *grabs a strip of bacon, stuffs it in my mouth, gulps, shoots and arrow for 11 damage*
So hard to shoot an arrow at a moving target in a forest with alot of branches, bushes, and trees and they keep going behind the trees >.<
An orc and a goblin give me a magic bow never got a cool item before, coool 13 damage 26 crit.
Saturday afternoon target practice with the sailors
hmmm...for some reason I cant think of anything else at the moment....could be the time or something. Overall, and i'll probably think of more later, this event was really awesome, plot was interesting and cool.
