Nobody at KR has ever said 'Hello im Andy, nice to meet you' that I can remember so  I dont know who Andy is.

Maybe Ive seen him, hes probably one of the obnoxious brats that I try not to associate with.

This has officially become the most rediculous thread I have ever seen.

Wanting to fight someone over what, knowing Andy, was probably a joke, is just plain dumb.  Even if it wasn't a joke, it's still dumb.  In the end, what have you accomplished?  Look tough in front of a bunch of people who run around in the woods with plumbing supplies?  Proud day for you and your family.

In closing, no one is fighting anyone, so stop your chest pounding.

--Skimmel

PS. Since you don't know him, I will reiterate Tommy's point -- Andy is pretty awesome.

Ditto on Skimmel's post. This thread has been ridiculous from the start with Charlie asking for ig gold for oog books and has snowballed in stupidity from that point on.

Craig I don't think I've ever formally met you at an event, and I guess Andy hasn't either. Here is a few words of advice though. NEVER get angry over something said on the KR forums. Most of the people who are on the forums have been friends for years, and as friends tend to do, we bust each others balls. Andy is the King of ball busting, and he is the first one to make fun of me on the forums when I post something dumb. Doesn't bother me at all though, because he's just busting my balls and is a great friend of mine oog, the guy caught my wife's garter belt at my wedding 2 months ago.

Anyway, point is there is nothing to fight over here, we're all friends, Andy was just being Andy (who is awesome).

First, Andy makes silly posts... but those that don't know him, will need to be informed.

Second, Craig... by inviting Andy to take a real swing at you at next event is you inviting him to help break the rule that no real fighting or physical contact is allowed at event.  Don't turn this into the revolving door incident in which the guy said he was going to shoot you.  :D

Third... Charles, if you do bring the books, I won't be able to take them at event.  As I said, I share a ride with Chris, and just me him & I alone fill up his van.  He's also running the upcoming event, so he's bringing even more than usual.  If you really need to get rid of these books asap, I will look into contacting the USPS and have them do a pick-up from your house during the week before event, if it's an emergency.

Great Shark Hunt

Hell's Angels

Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72

Fear & Loarthing in Las Vegas

I also have a book by Oscar Zeta Acosta, "Diary of a Brown Buffalo."  Acosta was Thompson's 300 pound Samoan attorney.  Vegas is a laugh a minute.  Of course, the first time I read it I was in an altered state.  Campaign Trail was both humorous and Heavy.  Try to get some back issues of Rolling Stone from that era.  Thompson was the Domestic Politics or some such desk for them.

Putting an Acosta book aside.  Might be "Revolt of the Cockroach People" because as Tina will testify, I am in the midst of cleaning the Aegean Stables.  Will find more/others by Event.  You will be happy, Quaz.

Having taken Athens in the Golden Age and Geek Mythology as graduate courses, I can say yes.  When I return from some errands I will send you a list.  I'll include period plays, like Aristophenes' works.  Do you want Plato (complete works, Jowett Edition) and Aristotle?  Please say yes :)

I've either read the following in their entirety or the germane sections.  With the exception of Plato and Airstotle, they were all enjoyable reads, though in some places technical.  Its kind of obvious in what area my interests are.  I can also recommend a good game "Epic of the Peloponesian War," which you can prob ably get cheap on ebay.  If not, let me know if you are interested.  I think I still have connections.  I also have a reference somewhere on coinage.  I also have lots of back issues of Military History Quarterly, which has some fine articles.  Books below will be on loan to you for as long as you need them.  I'll figure out how to get them to you.

Any topic in which you are specifically interested that is not below, let me know about and I will inquire among my associates.  I can really help you in medieval, or 20th century warfare, esp naval.  Come to think of it, any warfare.

I recall a great deal from the Athens class, so if you want, PM me and feel free to pick over my brain.
