Thanks Jenna! I'm most concerned about the clear sealant suggestion. I did get a reply recommending games workshop paints lol. I can try that, but I want to protect it afterwards.
Best,

"Ok we can attack... but if we miss, we'll hit the villagers."
"I'm willing to take that chance!"
Things I am no longer allowed to do in an RPG :
31. The backup trap handler is not whoever has the most HP at the time.
73. Not allowed to name my cudgel Ceremonial Whoopass Stick.
74. My thief's battle cry is not "Run And Live"

Finally got an answer!
The original paint job is done during the molding process, to enable it to bond more permanently to the foam. They've been experimenting with different ways to reapply paint, but so far it looks like only airbrushing works well. Spray paint would get the job done, but it would rub off on whoever you hit and ruin their cloths, so I wouldn't recommend it. Any other kind of paint will crack.
I've also had it confirmed that the link Liam provided is giving some good advice, so you can try what they're suggesting. Just make sure to use THIN layers! Also, I'd recommend you do some tests fight with a re-painted blade before bringing it to an event: One paint smear on someone's $600 winter cloak and it's not going to be a happy day for anyone.
Do not use any kind of sealant on your blade: it will ruin the flexibility.
Oh, and if anyone is curious as far as handles go, they are hand-painted from the start, and Games Workshop paint works quite well for restoring them.

I was actually curious about this too in terms of repainting parts of the Phoenix dagger I recently picked up. Would the Games Workshop paint work on the blade as well?
