5/8" Pipe Insulation

14 years 10 months ago #53533 by FreeCookiesforU (FreeCookiesforU)
I have been desperately trying to make some boffer weapons (my first, ever) in time for this upcoming event and I have been to three different Home Depots, a Lowes, and four different small hardware stores in search of proper pipe insulation for the production of boffer weapons.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a reasonable amount in the North Jersey/New York State Border area? I live at the top of Bergen County, about two minutes from the New York State Border. Twenty minutes north of Hackensack.

It tends to vary from store to store - last I checked the Home Depot in the Palisades Mall had some, but that was last year some time.

I went there, and they only had 3/8" - All of the Home Depots and Lowes only had 3/8" in stock.

I know that there's a home depot in Passaic,
A lowes near East Rutherford
and you may have some luck if you
go into Walmart near garfield,

hope that helps out.

After having been to all of the regular suppliers, I think that I will need to search for a plumbing specialty store in the area. Does anyone know of any that they suggest?

The reason you are having difficulty is that NY and NJ building codes only require 3/8" foam.

However, you should be able to find it at Able Paint and Hardware in Clifton NJ
