OOG sales need to be in OOG money. IG sales need to be in IG money.
Unfortunately, it is metagaming to sell an OOG shield to someone for IG coin only.

That still is not allowed - you are selling an Out-Of-Game physrep for IG coin, which is the issue.
This same ruling is why Charlie could not sell OOG latex weapons, or books, for gold IG.
Minor items that are IG, like food, is usually acceptable because it promotes atmosphere (such as someone with Trade: Cook selling food), but anything of a more substantial value, such as a latex sword, shield, or other prop, causes a problem in that you are basically buying IG coin with OOG resources, and no skill on your PC's card to justify it. (Even as a Blacksmith, it would be questionable, due to the value of the items.)
One should be paying gold for an Item or Commodity Card, and not the OOG prop. One should be paying OOG money for a Prop, and not for item cards or other IG benefits.
