Hey all,
I had such a great time at Dexcon I had to come play this year and I had so much fun this last weekend, I can't wait for next but I can't make up my mind what to play as this next event will be my first PCing game.
I wanted to thank everyone for making it a truly fun experience even if I was hanging in the kitchen too much, I got to talk to a bunch of people about classes and game mechanics, Got to see some professions in action, and met some great people. I also want to thank Diana for the amount of food available... omg, so good.
Thanks for a great weekend

I echo Joe's sentiments.  You did yeoman's service (and I hope got the SPs for so doing) an d now have an idea what you want to play.  You'll fit right in, which is sort of a compliment... :)

I had a great time and am going again this coming weekend but I still haven't a clue what I want to play. I have a druid written up and am gathering stuff for a celtic costume and tent fixins, but my staff doesn't look super and I fear it won't pass the test. If I can't make up my mind I'll just NPC again, but I really want to play

You always have the option of coming in as a Commoner, and picking your profession In-Game  It hinders you a bit because you need to spend 2 months catching up on learning basic skills, but it can also be a LOT of fun, and it lets you talk to PCs In-Game to choose what you want to be.

You can also re-roll your character after its first event. So you can play one character this event and if you don't like it can change it 100% with no penalty.

It can certainly be a lot of fun, but as someone who has gone this route, I should also mention that it is not without its frustration, as for example, it took me about four or five months to get Kwildar to the point where he was doing anything truly useful...

But man, I don't think I would've wanted to have brought this character concept into game in any other manner. If you don't mind being behind the curve on a lot of things for a while, it's certainly a rewarding way of starting a character, gives a real sense of accomplishment at the character's growth.
