I thought I saw posted that one of the two events in May was supposed to be an Alt event. Is this true? If so, which weekend of the two is the alt event? I'm unsure if I can make both the May events, so might have to choose, and knowing would be a huge help :)

For that matter, what is the alt event? I'm going on a limb here (really stretching the brain power now!) and guess you can't play your main, heh. Can you still advance your main character though?

No details have been released for the 2010 Alt Event yet. As noted when James announced the summer dates, when he knows more, he will post it.
