Hey,
Look around, write down or post any questions you have, and read the "New Players!" link/section. It helps a lot. Hope you like what you see & come to an event for some fun soon.

I'm glad to see KR made a good impression at the NYCC. With so many people, booths, events going on there... sticking out & being memorable is a challenge. Really want to thank you for stopping by the booth & I hope you come to an event soon.

Howdy, David.
As a few other people have mentioned, if you have any questions - feel free to ask. Either post them here or you can send me a PM and I'll be glad to help out however I can.
As far as getting started, I know the rules can be a little intimidating to look at if you're new to larp in general. I would probably suggest taking a look at the schedule and seeing when you were free and then coming by to see how it goes. The experienced players are great about helping out new folks; and if you wanted to save some money and/or see what it's like before making your own character, spending an event as a full-time NPC (non-player character) can get you experience in several facets of the game.
Hope to see you around soon.

Tossing my inconsiderable weight behind the idea of NPCing for your first event. I'll be joining KR in December or January and NPCing for at least six months or so before I bring in a PC. Besides, doing so gives you some points you can put into build to pad your character sheet more pleasantly!
Also, spend a lot of time lurking the boards, read everything that people post and some of the back logs. Check out the event photos. If you really want the most out of a game, recon everything you can first, spend a couple hours a week at least, and you'll be far better off than a lot of new players. Also, don't be a munchkin*. You'll have more fun.
*Munchkins are players who want to "win" rather than play. Open-ended Role-play intensive games aren't for winning so much as interacting, which is what makes them made of <3

I've never heard the term munchkin before (not a saying that's made its way to this gaming community). David, take a look at the website and drop either Conner out myself a PM with any questions you have. There's a ton of stuff to read, don't get overwhelmed!

Munchkin is likely more common amongst D&D players, and it's a bit old-school as well. *shrug*
