My wife and I are hoping to join soon - we had planned on January or February. As of right now we are planing on coming in as a Barbarian Druid and a Dryad Archer (or Ranger). We have been gathering our costume and gear and putting things together. A question for the Archer - what is a reasonable number of boffer arrows for someone to start with/have for a weekend event?

(Edit - forgot to put my real name in)

by Boffer arrows I hope you mean having the foam tip arrows you get on-line(through Calimicil, dark knight armoury, etc.[all can be found through our web links page])

But I would suggest 7-10, and expect to lose or have one break, during the weekend. It doesn't always happen, but this way you can go in expect ing it.

Yes, We are purchasing through Calimicil. We have 5 so far and my wife has been practicing with them with an appropriate poundage and draw bow.

Thanks for the advice. We'll try and get her up to 10 before our first weekend.

Hi. My name is Sean and I play an archer, as well as am one of the new player marshals.
I currently carry 5 arrows but I know that some people who play carry up to 20 arrows. I know I've lost at least 3 arrows on the camp but be prepared to loose some. I also recommend that you get the smallest possible glow sticks and some tape to attach to the front of the arrows so you don't loose them when shooting at night. Last thing is to mark your arrows somehow so that we don't get our arrows mixed up. I personally spray paint mine disgusting colours so I know they are mine. If you have any other questions please let me know.

7-10 definitely the magic number. I find that any more than 8 and I start losing them (not that it stops me from carrying 10, but still).

On the other hand, depends how you intend to fight. If you plan on doing nothing but shooting arrows from as far away as possible, maybe you'd want to carry a whole bunch, maybe even several dozen.

All hunters die. But not today.

My very first KR event, I brought about 20 arrows... and I used them all during a long battle. I only lost a handful (around 5) over the course of 5 months or so... all due to breakage from combat.

Sadly, things keep coming up to delay our start date. Hopefully, it will mean coming with more people!
