normal Question for a Potential New Player

Question for a Potential New Player was created by Caldor Eirson (Caldor)
A friend of mine is planning on joining us at KR starting in June, but is not yet on the forums. He had a question I wanted to pass along.

In the rule book about starting build, it says: If you have acquired Service Points (SP) you may spend up to 200 SP to gain an additional 1 to 2 Build.

Can these Service Points for a new character be from things donated to the event in the first session, such as spell packets or what not, or does it have to be from prior events? He is working on a build that seems like it would cost him 12, and he wants to know if he can find any way to get that extra build beyond paying for the extra event build.

Q: How many people does it take to teach a barbarian how to read?
A: 1 knight, 3 squires, and 1 master of the mages guild.

Yes! He can absolutely make donations his first event to earn that extra SP, and use that to spend on creating his character. Just be sure the SP is gotten before or at the same time someone is helping him make his character so it all shakes out in his favor.

Good to know! I should have cashed in some of mine when I was making my character, so I would be closer to level 3.
