Looking for quality body paint. was created by Willow That Walks (Chris_Stephens)
Okee, so the concept I've chosen involves some body paint and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction in regards to paint or pigment that wont come off when I sweat, Im looking for browns and greens as well as a glittertone bright green for certain accents. The paint is primarily going to be for my hands, arms, neck and face. Thank you!

Hi!
I enjoy doing a lot of fantasy and/or horror makeups, and I find that the two brands that work well are Mehron and Ben Nye. They're a little pricey, but they come in cakes that'll last you a goodly while. We use a lot of Mehron makeup for our NPCs, as well-some of it liquid, some of it water-activated cakes. It covers evenly and opaquely, in my experience, but how much water to use for the cakes takes a little feeling out. Both companies also have a variety of glitter products.
My advice, no matter which company you go with, is to make sure you get sealer spray. It helps set the makeup and protect it against coming off in the rain, and if you spray it on your skin before you apply the makeup, can help prevent it coming off due to sweat.

Ben Nye: shop.ptsonline.biz/Ben-Nye-Theatrical-Makeup_c16.htm
Hope this helps!

Awesome, so I would seal twice. Once to keep the paint from sweating out, and again to keep it from rubbing off. Wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

A friend of mine is an arbonne rep, and their makeup primer is amazing for setting makeup and keeping pores clear. Kept my scar on my neck all Friday night (till 5 am) and most of Saturday without a touch-up, even when rubbed by shirt/hair/whathaveyou. Another possible option

The Ben Nye sealant is the best imho. Its a spray that will seal everything onto your face/body until you shower.

I go to
www.sillyfarm.com.
They have a crud load of brands. I use Wolfe brand myself.. I am severely allergic to most make -up and this one seemed to be the easiest to deal with. Make sure you have brushes for details and stuff.
However, if you have a compressor you could go the airbrush route, which I have been thinking about trying.
But everyone is right Sealant is the way to go to keep things on.

I'm just gonna have to repeat what the others said, Ben Nye cakes and sealing spray. Don't forget though to get a good applicator for the job, a nice quality makeup brush puts it on a lot better than cvs sponge triangles.

Speaking of application, I have good makeup (I use the Ben Nye cakes for cosplay, myself), but a smooth coat is my biggest issue. Does anybody have any tips for applying the water-activated cake makeup? A certain type of applicator that works best, or a technique to avoid streaking?
