Bring warm thermals. It's probably going to be really cold this weekend! Under layers are your friend, change them as often as you need to and beware wet socks :)

Hi Joseph! I hope you are looking forward to kr. I'm Jeremy and I suggest bringing extra socks. Especially wool socks. As it gets colder you want to stay as warm as possible.
Don't be afraid to roleplay. Do what you feel your character would do, and have fun. Don't worry, we don't bite.
Welcome to KR!

First off, welcome!
Like Abby/Thalia said, definitely bring warm clothing. Standard cold weather stuff. Pack extra clothing within reason, in case anything gets too wet. Socks are important!
There are a bunch of new player marshals at the site who will help you build your characters stats, so don't worry about that too much. There are a few ways to play a cleric mechanically at low levels (healing, offensive melee, defensive melee, for starters).
More importantly (in my opinion), think about your character, not your class! You'll be spending a weekend in the shoes of another person, so make sure it's someone you can have fun as. Don't worry if you decide you'd much rather play as another type of character after the first event, you have a few events to make your decision.
Lastly, don't be afraid to get involved and talk to people. We're all in together, and in-game socializing makes the game go round. If you see a group of people hanging around at the bar, buy 'em a drink! Or ask them to buy one for you!
If you've got any questions at game, look for me, the long-haired guy who will probably playing the harp. If I can't answer them, I can definitely direct you to those that can!

- Shadows and darkness are not to be feared. As with any other tool, it is the will of the wielder that does evil or good.

Hi Joseph! I'm Christine, a New Player Marshal. I'm really excited you're coming out to game, this is gearing up to be a really awesome event! However, it is going to be really cold. Especially because it's your first game, stay warm before worrying about costuming. My first event was January a few years ago, so I learned firsthand all the things you shouldn't do when larping in the winter (not wear enough layers, not drink enough water, not have enough socks...). I'd recommend making sure you have a warm sleeping bag and plenty of layers to wear-my favorite trick is fuzzy PJ pants underneath my costume to help stay warm.
As far as being in game goes, have fun with it! Don't be afraid to talk to people or ask questions! If all else fails and you're really nervous (like I was when I first came), volunteer to bartend! You'll get to know names and faces, and that makes everything easier.
If you have any questions about making a character or how the deities work, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to answer them.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Joseph!
My names Michaela, and I play a Cleric of Valos. I'll be looking forward to meeting you tonight, as it's always good to have new members of the church. Feel free to ask the new player marshals if you have any questions, cause they're all really nice people.
And like everyone else said, bring lots of dry clothes(and make sure to stay hydrated and eat food!)

Hey! I hope this gets to you in time. I'm Onca, a new player marshal. Welcome to KR!
If you have questions, you can Pm me since it is short notice, or you are welcome to save them for tonight at new player training. We will help you with applying your character concept to an in-game card in the barn whenever you arrive (starting by 7 or so) and the intro class is at 9.30 in the barn.
Please remember, the camp is not well-heated and much of the action happens outdoors. Bring warm layers, in-game is better but safety first. Bring socks and more socks and comfy boots and also socks. If you have waterproof boots all the better. Bring a cloak if you have one or feel free to ask around for me...I have several spare cloaks.
Let me know if I can help! See ya tonight at camp :)
