New player with a question or two was created by Cyrik (rez413)
Hello KR! I've been giving his game a look for awhile and am planning to make my first game on the 17th of April. I think I've mostly got down what I need to know (got a Cavalier all written out and ready to roll), but I do have a few specific questions.

1. Policies on latex weapons? I poked around but I haven't found much if anything on the site, although I see them in people's photos and in discussions.

2. Is a well-made brigandine vest likely to be classified under metal or plate?

3. Are we supposed to have a character card filled out and submitted well beforehand, or will bringing a filled out New Player worksheet suffice?

Thanks and hope to see you all in April!

Hello Will,
My name is Sean and I am one of the many new player marshal's that will be responding to this message.
First of all welcome to KR.

1. Yes latex weapons are aloud but we will do a weapons check when you come into game and make sure its not to stiff or unsafe.

2. We will need to see it before anyone can make the call.

3. No. A worksheet is good enough.

Thanks. For what it's worth: www.forgeofsvan.com/en/Body-defenses/Bri...d-product-flyer.html is the brig in question.

Hi, Will!

I'm Jeff and I'm also a New Player Marshal. Welcome to Knight Realms!

Sean seems to have answered the questions you listed, but if you have any more, feel free to post them right here.

For your first game, make sure you pack the essentials:
A black shirt and pants for your NPC duty
A sleeping bag and/or bedding
Snacks if you get hungry
A ziploc sandwich bag for your character card to keep it dry--admittedly I don't do this, but it's probably a smart idea
Socks. I cannot stress this enough. With all the rain we've had and that we're going to have--April showers bring May flowers, haven't you heard?--the ground is sure to be good and muddy. Your socks may get soaked and wet feet are no fun for anyone. You'll want to change them often, which means bringing plenty of pairs,

Ohhh man. Believe me, I learned the socks thing the hard way last month at a different event. My feet were so sodden I drove the hour and a half home barefoot. But thanks for the pointers, hope to see you all in a few weeks!
