New to May Event. was created by Caius (Caius)
I've been lurking for almost a year now but just haven't had the means or have simply been putting it off till now. I requested some time off of work so my sister and I will defiantly be making the May event.

I just wanted to stop in and say hello again as well as find some confirmation in making our characters. It feels odd just showing up and throwing ourselves in there without having talked to anyone first so anyone willing to more thoroughly explain the new character process to me would be appreciated greatly.

Hi!

I'm sure one of our New Player Marshals will be quick to hop in and give you guidance on character creation and what not, but I wanted to welcome you aboard.

My wife and I lurked for a bit and asked questions before joining, and that ended up helping a bunch. I look forward to meeting you and your sister!

Hi, Dean!

I'm Jeff, one of the New Player Marshals (NPM) here. Welcome to Knight Realms! Basically, it's my job to welcome you to the game, get you started, and answer any questions you have during your first bunch of events.

So, the new character process is pretty simple. This link will take you to the Races section of the Rulebook, where you'll pick what race your character will be--human or otherwise. Then you'll move onto profession, and you have plenty of options there, from a bard (think Shakespeare, but more jovial) to a warrior, and everything in between.
www.knightrealms.com/documents/rulebook/...ook-core.html#toc197

Then when you decide what skills you'd like your character to have, jot it all down and either message it (here on the forums or on Facebook) to a NPM like myself or bring it with you to the event.

If you have any other questions about character creation or anything else, feel free to ask!

-Jeff

We pretty much have our characters written. As far as a Bio goes it's vague, but Race and profession are already set up.

As for those we've decided on High Elves. Myself being a cavalier and her being a Bounty Hunter.

We also have LARP foam/latex swords but aren't sure if they will meet requirements. I haven't been able to find much information around the site about getting weapons approved. I'm sure it's here somewhere but I seem to be missing it.

Long story short on weapons approval.

After you check in, show it to a Logistics or Rules Marshal and they'll tell you if its okay or not.
