Hello everyone. Myself and a couple good friends are planning to join you guys the weekend of the 24th. I have been reviewing the rule book and developing my character over the past few months and couldn't be more exited. Hell I'm even looking forward to simply being in the woods with like minded people and allowing my mind to drift back a few centuries. I look forward to meeting you all :-)

I actually have a question about shield legality. I own a training buckler, it is made of a smooth plastic and has no points or edges. It has never damaged or even scuffed the coloring on a boffer weapon. Is it still necessary for me to border it with foam?

I am also having issues finding the character background sheet. I have looked through the document section of the site. I read that if it is not approved I cannot act on its contents in game. How does this work say I am asked a direct question about my origins? I also built my character using the builder on the website. Is it also necessary for me to fill out the physical character form? Sorry for the barrage of questions, you're the first person I've spoken to who has first hand experience with KR.

No problem, glad I can help.

1: Shields and weapons are done on a case by case basis as all of them need to get approved in order to be used.

2: You submit your backstory from the card system. When you create your card, there is a link(I believe it's Character Chronicle) when you can view your card. As long as there is nothing outrageous in there you can use it. So, as long as your backstory is "I come from Amon' Zad and I left to find adventure." You should be okay to use it. However if it is "I am a prince from Amon' Zad." That is a different story and needs to get approved. If there is any doubt, I recommend asking James if you need approval for a part of your backstory.

3: It is not necessary to fill out the physical character form if you have a card in the database already.

Thanks for the information. The back story I came up with is just like you described. I more or less chose a region and came up with some fluff as to how I know my friend.

Yeah that should be good them. Anything elaborate should go in character chronicles on the card system once you are in there, and once you are approved, your in the clear.

One more question. Are compound bows an absolute no no? I have a small bow that is intended for a child. It is an 18 lb bow and doesn't pack too much punch. I've modified to look setting appropriate. Is there any chance that it could be used? I understand you cannot give definite answers but just want to know because if it is a definite no ill try and find something else.

Unless a staff member disagrees,

Compound bows don't look to the period and wouldn't be allowed.

Hello,
Well I feel it's a long time coming, but I'm finally going to tug off the boots, doff the outers and take the plunge into KnightRealms. I've been thinking about doing this for years now, but one thing or another always kept me back. Now I think I'm truly ready for an immersive Larp experience. I've been slowly making my my through the rule-book and the anticipation is building. I intend to have my first game in the July event. I'm hopeful that I can be ready by then. In the meantime, where is the best place to learn more of the In-game lore. Is it here on this site? Or should I be looking elsewhere? Would like to come in feeling like a native of Kormyre.

See you all next month.

Hey Shaheen.

Best place is the baronial library under the IG section of the site.
