Winter Safety: Bundle Up, It's Chilly Out There was created by Nalick (NalickDeMarche)
So if you couldn't guess by looking out your windows, all those Game of Thrones memes warning that "Winter is coming," were right, especially at Camp Sac.
For starters, here's a post from John Tinney, one of our Safety Marshals.
www.knightrealms.com/forum/Announcements...arch-17-edition.html
He's one of the people who'll be there if your injury role-play gets a little too real. All of the phone numbers for the Safety Marshals present, are posted on a whiteboard in Logistics, the main building on Camp.
Here's some tips to make sure you're comfortable this weekend:
Layering.
1st layer: Moisture-wicking thermal, meaning that it draws moisture away from your skin and helps you retain body heat. These will usually resemble Under Armour but don't need to be that specific brand.
2nd layer: Insulation! Wool or fleece are the best options.
For your feet: hiking socks or wool socks.
Wear gloves and a hat! It's okay if they don't look period-appropriate. The current forecast has the temperatures slightly above freezing during the day and below freezing at night. We'd rather you not have frostbite than look like you walked right off the set of The Tudors.
Drink water. Ask for it by the mug or the bottle at the Dragon's Claw. It's free. We have a water cooler in Logistics--have a cup when you get there if you haven't in a while, and when you're back from playing whatever role you were sent out as. If you want to bring your own water bottle or mug/what-have-you just to have something refill-able and help us cut down on throwing out a bunch of paper cups, you're more than welcome to.
Stay warm and I'll see you out there!

I'm not a safety or new player marshal, but here is some helpful advice:
1) If you are feeling sick, always take care of your health before coming to game. You don't want to spread the bug any further than it has to be and with how the weather is shaping up, you may make a simple cold turn much worse.
2) I highly suggest people take daily vitamins to boost their immune systems for the cold weather. I have been doing this for a year now and haven't contracted any flu-like bugs from game since then. Even simple boosters like Halls tablets & V8 Juices help protect yourselves against the harsh conditions of the winter.
3) Waterproof your outer gear two days before the event. That means start waterproofing things tonight/tomorrow morning! It'll help keep you dry when you transition from warm to cold places.

That you have helpful advice, is what counts. It's not really important that you're neither kind of Marshal on this board. Thanks for the help!
