True, but maybe not so funny

My coterie, while working hard and making decent to very good money, did not squander it on new cars or overly expensive clothes (I admit to having purchased a thousand dollar suit back then, but it was the only suit I had besides the white one in which I was married).  We usually bought used cars and ran them into the ground, something I continue to do to this day.

Nose sugar, as ALex so obliquely puts it, was and still is a fast way to ruin.  The ganja generation largely ignored it.  There were parties, however...

What occurred, as it always does, was speculators using leverage, made bad speculations that their buddies in the banking industry covered.  This sad tune goes back to the late twenties of the past century.  It seems that everyone who lives 50 years is treated to at least one such debacle.  Those of you who have/had long term savings and put it into cash (of which I include CDs, Treasuries, etc) last year should have your peers bowing at your feet.

When I was looking for a radio adapter for me cell phone, it came in FM, and when I asked them if they had one in AM instead they looked at me funny.  I also have overly strong opinions, but I also realize that political talk can really, really get people angry on each of the sides, so keep it to your facebook/myspace/blog please )
