'Twas the Night before Christmas, KR style...

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Travance,
Not a creature was stirring, with sword or with lance;
The Mages were sleeping behind warded walls,
While the crew of Magnus slept in the great hall.

The Inn and the Bar were closed for the night,
Peace blessed the land, there 'nere was a fight;
The Tellinghasts snored all in their bunks,
While the Royal Guard slumbered, as well as the Monks.

When up from the rooftop there came a loud din,
As if some Main Mod Boss came to do us all in!
We rolled out of bed, swords drawn and bows knocked;
Ready for battle, though the doors be locked.

Lord Pyre was yelling, and rousing the guard;
Alia was singing (because she is a bard!)
Carlos did stir, and rolled out of the sack,
While Cinder approached, ready to attack!

But what did we see, up on the roof?
A ghost from the past, no way, forsooth!
It was the old Baron, the one played by James
Klarington Everest, among his names;

He stood tall and proud on the roof of the Inn,
And gazed at us all, his lips in a grin.
"I am free of my torment, for this blessed night,
"And I bring good cheer, not danger or fright!

"While held in the Pit some things I did find,
"To give to you all, I did have in mind;"
He pulled out a sack he had slung behind him,
We saw presents spill forth, though the light be dim;

Sir Fogrom received a shiny new axe,
Farmer Thomas got his sanity back;
Janus and Morwenne were gifted with books,
And Vasco got shackles, to capture some crooks;

Lord Shen and Liu Tsuami both got new staves,
The clergy got blessings to put on the graves;
The gypsies got jangles, and the satyrs some jugs,
With which to fill up the town's empty mugs.

"To all of you, I bring you these little things,
"But one gift I have, is for all beings!
"Tonight shall be peaceful, none shall attack,
"If monsters come out, I shall send them all back.

"It's been a long year, you all have fought hard,
"Many a battle has been won in this yard;
"You all need to sleep, you deserve a night's rest,
"To all, Merry Christmas, and to all, the best!"

And with a poof of brimstone, and a cloud of smoke,
The old baron did vanish, the creepy old bloke.
We stared at the rooftop, in wonder and awe,
Wondering if we believed what we all just saw.

But in that cold winter night, we knew we were safe;
Klarington Everest has blessed us, in his good grace.
So to all the heroes, both lowly and knight,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
