I've played the boardgame, which is a tad unbalanced. Some of the cards are out of whack with the people in the book, but overall it is good and has excellent replayability.
I think James is inviting us over to play. :) Works best with all five houses represented, IIRC.

he didn't just play KR, he LIVED KR.
I heard this one time he went to work in his full Tellinghast regalia to see if he could "prosecute" his way to getting some free soda.
After they called the cops he was never the same, started mumbling about alternate realities, and how no one could recognize greatness when it was right in front of them, and shit like that. Now he just walks around in a kilt talking about Highlanders and some moron named Turin who is stuck on a boat somewhere.
Like I said... crazy.

If someone wants to run a session at DEXCON, that might get everyone in the same spot at the same time... I'll check to see if it's come up at prior cons.

A small bit of thread necromancy, but the orignal topic for this was lost some time ago. Game of Thrones comes to HBO.
The article can be found here.
Peter Dinklage is supposedly set to star as the Queen's brother.

I hope it is a long series and does the series justice. Speaking of which, I'm not getting any younger and would like it to be finished before I am.

Earlier this year HBO ordered a pilot for the show, and the plans are that each season will be one of the novels. Unfortunately, that means GRRM needs to get off his keister and finish the last 3 books within the next 4-5 years. Good luck with that.

The problem is its been so long since the last one, I have to read them over. IIRC, I read the last book on our trip to Brno in November/December 05.

Yeah, I jsut reread them with a hopeful heart during my pregnancy time-off. Unfortunately, my memory is so short for books and movies that I think I'm going to have to reread them again starting in the beginning of September.
