While working on the site, I decided to take a peek at who visits the KR website. Some fun facts...
During the month of August, 5037 unique visitors came to the KR site. On average, each person visited 3.8 times during the month, and visited 39 different pages per visit. Almost no one was on the site on August 15th (during the event).
Thursday is the busiest average weekday for the site.
Peak Traffic is between 8 and 11 PM, with the slow period being between 3 and 7 AM. 6:00 AM is the low point of the day.
Top visitors are from:
United States (.us) - 665629 hits.
Unknown (?) - 44680 hits.
Canada (.ca) - 15192 hits.
Great Britain (.gb) - 7954 hits (That's you, JoeDios!)
Russian Federation (.ru) - 1704 hits (They can visit the KR site, but not the forums - I banned the nation as a whole when the error logs filled up with errors from Russia trying to hack & spam us).
China (.cn) - 1690 hits.
Australia (.au) - 907 hits.
Operating Systems:
Windows - 85.9 %
Macintosh - 12.8 %
Linux - 0.6 %
Browsers:
MS Internet Explorer - 47.6 %
Firefox - 36.4 %
Google Chrome - 7.2 %
Safari - 6.6 %
Opera - 0.8 %
Mozilla - 0.7 %

???
Does that mean half the Mac users have something older than OSX, or are they using Chrome or Firefox?
Oh, and all you PC users who still use IE, L2 Firefox! We've got a good representation, but we need moar Mozilla!!!
So Geoff, what do you use for compiling those stats, or is tracking like that provided by Joomla?

Mac OSes prior to 10.0 didn't even show on the scale - although "Unknown" made a showing at 1.4% for OSes. (The Wii came in at 0.1%, interestingly... it may have been me geeking out even more than usual while working on a new layout.)
As for the Safari vs. Firefox / Chrome thing - It means they are using a browser other than Safari. Being a MacHead myself, I have to say I prefer Firefox to Safari any day of the week, as does just about any other Mac user I know. Safari isn't necessarily bad, Firefox is just better.
The stats are compiled by AWstats, which comes with the web server. Joomla has a tracking system built into it as well, but it's not as good.

Aye. I'm a Maccer myself, and use Firefox, but sometimes use Safari. Though I'm curious as to why Internet Explorer is so prevalent...
it always gives me a headache, whether I'm on PC or Mac...

I've read that IE8 isn't really that bad. But if you're using IE6 you really need to get a better browser.
Firefox is great, but I highly HIGHLY recommend Google's Chrome browser. It doesn't have add-ons like Firefox, but it also doesn't hog as much memory.

The Add-Ons are what sells me on Firefox. A ton of the tools I use to build the KR site are add-ins for Firefox, such as FireFTP, Firebug, and Xmarks.
