Right click sounds like an anti-Mac mouse, and is certainly not on my Power Book. Is there another way?
And Chris, I am uncertain as to what type of thinking goes into chess, but pattern recognition is important. What do you mean by lateral thinking?

I believe 'cmd-click' will give you the equivalent of a right click, Charlie.

What do I mean by Lateral thinking??? Charlie Charlie Charlie...
As far as right clicking on a Mac it is usually obtained by holding down the apple key and then pressing the mouse or keypad key wioth the cursor or arrow on top of the misspelled word, however, if the apple key doesn't work try the CTRL key.
Lateral thinking: Not thinking by means of what lies directly in front of you for a solution. to approach a problem form different angles and solve them laterally.
or to pertain to chess... to look at all of your options and see solutions moving in different directions.

Thanks for the help, guys. I'll give it a whirl soon.
Chess thinking. Not certain exactly, but when not playing speed chess, I try to steer the position into familiar territory. Every time my opponent moves, I look at the ramifications, i.e., what does this move threaten and how does it change the dynamics of the board. Then, I mentally manipulate the board to examine my options. This is the tough part, because after I make the pieces dance, so to speak, I must examine the resulting position and evaluate it. Each move I try to see ahead, results in that many more positions that must be taken into account. As Arthur Bisguier put it, "The mistakes are all there waiting to be made."
Given my level of skill, I try not to take the meat axe approach and always strive for an esthetically pleasing game. It actually sharpens my game somewhat as I am always looking for combinations as well as trading off material when I am ahead. This lateral thinking stuff is a bit off, I think. Take a few more lessons and see.

I support a forum spell check. I think people are casting things there's no way they have the build for.
