Dick Winters, age 92 died peacefully at his home near Hershey, PA last week. In Band of Brothers, he rose from captain to major, with his most famous line being "After this war is over I want to go home and live on a farm." He did.

i remember watching that series. it was absolutely fantastic and it was amazing to see what they all went through. I'm glad to know that he's in peace now and won't have to see the suffering of war again.

He said "Of course I was scared, but I had a job to do and people depending on me to do it." I can think of no better definition of hero, than one who knows that and carries through.
