Let's hear you pronounce that in Welsh. A college friend married a Welshman. Their kids are fluent in the tongue and sound like they are bringing up phlegm. She speaks it with a miserable accent after 25 years. However, they prepare better food than the English.

Welsh Rarebit, now that's one that would go well. Toasted bread as a base, with three delicious cheeses mixed with good beer and melted (you lose the alcohol, but retain the flavor) then poured over bacon put on the toasted bread. Thank you for reminding me of international dishes, Paul. Now to think of the sides.

To continue the tangent. . .
So I'm about 15 and sitting with three friends all by our lonesome--no "adults" in a tavern in Historic Williamsburg, VA (Marching band trip, I think). We look at the menu, and being the non-conformist adventersome kid I was, (and wanting to impress my friends with my broad palate and sophisticated taste) I bravely ordered "Welsch Rarebit (Rabbit)" (which is excatly how it was written on that menu)
Thank god I was too shy to tell the waiter (though my friends told me I should, after we lifted up the bread, turned it over, and poked through the cheese sauce for a while) that they had forgotten the rabbit.

The sheep jokes just stretch too long, Joe. However, when asked by his da how his first piece was, the young Welshman replied "baaaad.'
