Hurricane Sandy!! everyone ok?

WHOA. I just had 3 trees falls near my house and just barely missing it! My streets are flooded and there's leafs everywhere! Still got power the lights are flickering and dimming like crazy, wouldn't be surprised if I lost it soon. Hows everyone else holding up? Im not even near the city (i live on the island) and its like the world is ending over here!

Powers out in north jersey 2 trees fell here. Typing this from my phone.....hope everyone is and remains safe

Everything is fine right now in Virginia.

I am in long island and right by the coast. had to evacuate, so perfectly fine, but not sure about my house...

Everything is mostly alright in upstate NY... Well other than the trees falling on the cars in the parking lot across from my house.

Lots of down trees here, but no one is hurt, and minimal damage to property.

James tweeted he is fine, but has extremely limited connectivity. I'll try to post more myself as I learn it.

I got really lucky here in the northern part of New jersey. I was the only one on my street who didnt lose power.

Bat Cooper is doing fine. He lost power but is on his way over here. My family lost power last night but its back up and running. Our biggest loss is that we're out of cheep wine and tonight we have to drink the good stuff!

Things are looking fairly good in my part of Brooklyn, but some of my friends are scared to go back home. They don't know if their houses are even standing. Fires have broken out in the most devastated areas and some neighborhoods like like war zones. I was visiting home for the weekend, but now I can't get back to school until next week (I only have 2 classes on thurs, so that's not bad!)

I got pretty lucky. Trees were falling down everywhere! I'm one of the only people that still has power left!

My apartment is fine, & my relatives are OK. Good news is I have waterfront property when I didn't before. It's a mish-mash for Brooklyn. Some parts are OK, but anything by the water (Coney Island, Red Hook, DUMBO) looks like its a part of a set from the movie Water World.

I had some power loss for a while, but it came back. I was most worried about sewage, but the water lines here are fine.

My power went our no to soon after I posted this I'm at my parents friends house cuz they have power. My street was torn to shreds if I can I'll post pics of the damage! I wanted to know if the event is still going on! I really hope so cuz I gotta get away from this! We have a generator but we don't have a lot of gas so I don't know how long we will last! I'm glad to hear everyone is ok! I don't have school till next week now Lol so that's awesome.

Looks like the event is still on from what Steve said on FB. Assume its on, plan for a cold wet weekend.

Areas of Philly lost power, such as my campus, but my apartment did not. No huge damage from what I've seen. It mostly was just a lot of wind and heavy rain for us during the storm. Cy's heading down to stay with me for a bit till his power comes back on and my gram's got no power so I'd say central NJ was hit with power problems too. Even people in Ohio were hit with power problems, surprising as that may sound.

I have no phone service on my cell, but my home still has power, internet, & water... so I'm pretty good. I have Skype up if people need to contact me.

Everything is fine in the Bristol area....lots of power outages in the surrounding and I got to watch a local transformer blow up (like a very bright firework). Couple of trees, but no major damage on my street.

I am personally alright, but parts of the town I work in got really wrecked. Houses floated away, crashed into other houses, and the flooding keeps coming back, even this morning they got flooded again, during the hurricane they had 20 fires in South Lindenhurst, some of those houses burnt to the ground.

Hey the entire Purchase crew and myself are good. We rode it out at Purchase didnt loose any power and played lots of D&D 5th edition. Other then that we are good. I hope that everyone is safe and we get to see you this weekend.

A very large swath of 22 near where I live is very down. No traffic lights, no nothing. I'm at Ann's place as PSEG is saying that I most likely won't have power till next Monday.

Gannon and I are ok, staying at my place with mal. No power, but hot water and gas stove. Would like to know if the camp has heat...maybe sleep on the couch by the fire on Thursday!

We basically had a miracle over in Albany. The storm formed a c shape around us, so all we has was a mildly bad rain with a bit of wind. All the luck to those of you still recovering from Sandy.

Here in Bristol Borough, Paul and I are fine!! We lost power for about 2 and 1/2 days. We had water and gas stove. Around the corner from us is a giant uprooted tree!\

No power here at my parents, not likely getting I back til Monday. Gas and water are fine, so we can still cook and take hot showers. Huge steak dinner tonight to use up the last of the food thawing out in our freezer...

I'm glad everyone is ok! We are having a freezer binge too!

I had a very easy time here down in Glassboro. My roommate and I rode out the storm with video games. Power only went out once for about an hour. Although apparently the power went out in a few buildings today for a short time. My parents are still without power and curse my good fortune to have been hit so mildly.

We lost a bit of the roof on our garage, few branches down, and some trees across the street. The roof started leaking at the plant I work at and ruined one of the machines. But that is it for us, couple miles north of us got nailed off the lake. Never lost power at least.

apart from a huge hole in my fence the winds where quite strong and a few roof shingles blowing off we faired well with several brown outs bot no power loss or flooding. thank God! I have a lot to be thankful for... My prayers are with those poor souls caught in the brunt...

We're okay here in Roselle. Just lack of power. We got to watch transformers blow up, looked like fireworks. Only place with power is a Target down the street. Hope everyone is okay!!!!!
