Draconic Priests?

I have been floating this idea around in my head for a while now and heard some chatter from players who have been to game longer than I have about this once being a thing. Why wouldn't there be priests of the Dragons?? I could easily see priests dedicated to the first dragons as well as Palinthorn and Telligrim for sure. Is there a reason they don't exist? Anyone else care to weigh in on this?

It is by the lore of the game, not possible. I won't go further into it, but essentially the dragons just wont. Only in rare circumstances would palinthorn or telligrim ever provide anyone with that sort of power. So this has been reserved (if ever even actually given out to non-NPCs) for very rare plot circumstances.
