Lords, Ladies, Sirs, Dames, and people of Travance, it is my great privilege to announce and invite you all to the 1210 Winterdark Masquerade Ball sponsored by the great Count Sebastian Everest of Winterdark, Earl of the Marches. The Count wishes to honor Travance and it's people with a night of food, merriment, and festivities for all to enjoy.
So put on your best, throw on a mask, and join us for this wonderful occasion!
Entertainment
Begining at 5pm sharp, Raphael Arkanian Rasia will formally announce everyone into the Great Hall of the Black Keep and present them to Count Winterdark and the Winterdark court. Upon completion of these announcements your host, Sir Victor Sylus, will begin the night's festivities including food, games, contests, and possibly a special treat by the Winterdark Merchant's Guild!
Throughout the evening you will be able to win tickets for a raffle that will be held at the conclusion of the ball. The raffle will be for a mystery prize that will only be reveled at the ball. You must be present at the time of the drawing to claim the prize. Come see what wonder you might be able to win!
Gaming Tables
A number of games will be available to test your luck, make some coin, and have a chance to win tickets! Bring your purse along for the fun, but check your bad luck at the door.
(Details concerning the gaming tables and rules will be posted on another notice to follow.)
Singing Contest
When this contest is announced, the contestants are going to regale the panel of judges with song to entertain and captivate the soul! Performers will be judged on vocal control, talent, and overall entertainment. As an added treat, Dame Hartwoode will open the contest with a song of her own for all to enjoy!
Third place will win 2 tickets, second place will win 3 tickets and first place will win 4 tickets AND a magical trinket!
Due to time constraints and consideration for both the judges and performers, all songs are limited to a five minute limit, and entry into this contest will be limited and be on a first come first serve basis. All who wish to enter please send a missive to Sir Victor Sylus at the Black Keep (PM) so that your spot may be reserved.
Storytelling & Poetry Contest
When this contest is announced, the contestants are going to recite for the panel of judges their stories or poetry of adventure, romance, and comedy! The performer with the most panache is going to walk away with the victory! All entries must be an original work by the performer.
Third place will win 2 tickets, second place will win 3 tickets and first place will win 4 tickets AND a magical trinket!

Best Dressed Contest
Every person at the ball is in the running for “Best Dressed” of the evening! A secret panel of judges will be judging outfits all evening, best of luck! Third place will win 1 ticket, second place will win 2 tickets and first place will win 3 tickets AND a magical trinket!
The Best Game!
Do you think you are THE BEST!? Well here is your chance to prove it. Participants will arrange into groups of 4 to 5 individuals. Everyone has to participate in at least one round. A contest category for the group will be announced (for example, “The Tallest”). Each group will then select one person who they think will win the category. Once the members are selected the specific action or measurement will be revealed to the selected contestants for that round. The person with the best action or measurement wins a point for their team. The team with the most points wins the game and are declared THE BEST!
Third place will win 1 ticket per team member, second place will win 2 tickets per team member, and first place will win 3 tickets per team member AND one magical trinket!
Dancing
Once again this year Dame Hartwoode will be offering dance instruction and courtly dancing for all. No previous knowledge of dance is necessary to have fun, just bring two feet and a smile to the main hall and we shall dance the night away! You can bring your own partner or we will find you one when and if the need arises.
Schedule
Please note that all weapons must be checked at the door with the guards before entrance into the Black Keep is permitted. Due to the nature of the enchantment on the Black Keep, Attuned weapons are able to be kept apart from their owners while in the Black Keep, and held by the guards.
In service,
