Smithing Info Needed was created by Nick C (kingofwhateverr)
I'm looking for some info on metals and costs to buy per bar.
If a smith would be as so kind to leave a note explaining what some of the most powerful metals are and how much it would cost me to buy per bar. Anything not disarmable or breakable would be ideal(if such materials exist).
-Haddle
P.S. If anyone is interested in selling the material to me, leave a note on the bar of the Dragon's Claw Inn and it will make it's way to me. (OoG: pm me)

It all depends upon your needs:
Mithril - unbreakable
Wytchwood - enough material and it can ignore a magical strike
Meteoric Ores (Fire, Ice, Lighting, Earth) strike for those elements.
Crystal - increases sharpness, susceptible to shatter
Electrum - strikes for either silver or gold damage
Silver - good against lycanthropes and some undead.
Etc...
The more exotic the more expensive per bar - anywhere between 1 Gold to 20+ Gold
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Base on your expertise, how many mithril bars would it take for a dagger and a one handed sword to be made?
And base off past experiences, what would the price be per bar?

20 gold per bar.
1 bar for a dagger
2 bars for a sword
Additionally if you are going to go with an arcane material i highly recommend:
Superior - holds weapon enhancements (honing) for the entire feast instead of a few hours (1 period)
Exalted - increases damage capability and if the weapon is bonded to you it can still have weapon enhancements placed on it.
If you are interested in these processes any master smith can help you.
Be aware this is a very costly process.

Costly; Yes. But I guarantee that any business you do with Edmund will not let you down, ever.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out my blades and armor had been enhanced by some special materials called 'art' and 'passion'. Because they damn well look like it.
