To all who call Travance home
I would like to thank the people of Travance for their courage and dedication for not only the protection of the land but of the Healers. Your combined efforts and determination turned the tide that saved many lives. I am proud to call Travance my home, but more importantly I am proud of the people that I serve and protect. Every day that passes I am reminded by the people why I dedicated my life in service to them. The Noble have my dedication and service, but my heart will always belongs to the people.
I am truly blessed to call Travance my home.

I would also like to take this time to add my humble thanks to the healers and all the other townsfolk. I am no knight or nobleman, but as a humble foot soldier I am grateful to all of you who have probably patched me up at one point or another (Likely while I was still yelling defiance at the opposition), or backed me in a fight.
Respectfully I remain,

Allow me to take this opportunity not only to concur wholeheartedly with Sir Pluvious' words, but to remind my friends and fellow townsmembers to show their gratitude toward healers in more than smiles and thanks.

I would like to add a personal thanks to those assigned or volunteered to assist the Baronial Guard protect the Phokus. We were lucky enough to have support from Witch Hunters and Healers who stood vigil with us throughout the Feast. My personal thanks to these individuals, for my Altar was close by the Phokus and under threat from the minions of Malyc as well. In particular, I would like to thank Lady Kleidin who stood with us at the Phokus when the assault on it finally came.
May Valos watch thee, and approve.

I feel like I'm echoing everyone but I would like to thank everyone for doing the right thing and helping. It is becoming clearer and clearer that as a town we can accomplish anything.

Time to echo it myself. This town is the only place I can reasonably call home, and the things I was terrified of in myself are things I'm applauded for here. You're the craziest, dumbest, most unusual, and destructive bunch of people with no sense of self-preservation that I've ever met. And I'm happy to throw myself behind you.

Such kind words remind us all why we strive to keep our Travancian family safe and healthy.
My thanks, respect and condolences to my fellow healers who fell victim to the Soul Harvester's horrendous infection. None shall ever know your pain save those who have experienced it. You are all as brave as lions. It will not be forgotten. Should any of you need or want someone to talk to, or anything to ease this burden of memory, simply say the word. And I am sure I do not speak just for myself in this way, as the hearts of Travancians are some of the biggest I've ever seen.
Though alone our lights may seem dim, when we stand together, they become brighter than the Darkness could ever imagine.

Clearly I am not the first to add my words to this posting, but on my own behalf and as a Warden, I would like to extend my appreciation for the assistance of everyone this past feast.
From the Guard to the scholars, to those who helped us keep on top of everything, those who assisted, those who watched, those who fought and protected us during the ritual, we would have been in a much more dire position without the help and support of everyone. I've been here for just over a year now and it doesn't matter how many times we face the impossible, I am forever impressed with how strong we are together.

Perhaps instead of patting ourselves on the back and congratulating each other on what a fine job we've all done, we should instead look to the failures, of which there were certainly many.
Why were the afflicted allowed to wander free as it became more clear their minds and souls were not their own? Why was it so difficult for people to simply keep an eye on them and not let them roam about unescorted? Why was it so easy to obtain items to use against the populace that should have been prevented? Why is the presence of healers taken for granted? Why were there so few to stand against an arch devil that was corrupting an angel?
Why all this, when you pride yourselves in standing tall and righteous against the darkness? Pride? Sadly misplaced. There was but one instance of a seeming coherence and unity, and that was those that guarded the healing phokus. Whilst all stood standing and watching, milling about like sheep, there was one group that bled hard and stood fast. By the phokus, under attack from the very abominations that had been inside the afflicted, they repelled what would have been a disaster. And no one thanks them. Instead, you all stand around congratulating yourself on fighting off yet another group of cultists to save but a few souls.
So cease your self-aggrandizement. There is much to be done before you are actually worthy of such accolades.

Dear Mr or Miss S
I will gladly go over all these matters with you on a more personal, one on one level. Please feel free to walk up to me and ask me in person about the very things you have put to ink this day.
Please let it known to all of Travance that I Sir Pluvious Knight of Winterdark am making myself most available to Mr/Miss S, for further discussion on his or her concerns. I welcome you Mr/Miss S with full hospitality to sit with me at my table. Let not your words be just that….words. Come and seek me out and let us make things right. But for now I humbly ask all the people of Travance to please be respectful to my good intentions regarding my posted letter. I ask should anyone have any negative feelings or remarks to please not post them in conjunction to any and all of my letters or posts from this moment on. Any and all grievances should be brought up properly to a Guard or Noble so we may find a solution and garner you a piece of mind.
Thank you all for your words

Hjolda! You are Hardtruth and Poisontongue both, it would appear, Shade.
That being written, I shall try to address your words here. As far as Arch-Devil of Glomm was concerned, we sent all we could, as well equipped as we could against him. Had a more seasoned adventurer such as myself entered his keep, instead of clearing his minions from the outside like myself and Lord Aleister did, his ritual would have made him strong enough to destroy you all. You and the newer townsfolk, as supported by the baronial guard and other benefactors were the only ones who could fight, and you did well. I know for a fact it was you that struck the final blow against Frederick, and that is why I gave you not one but two deed names.
Those defending the Phokus did well, I had asked that a guard detail stand fast there and they did, as did Lady Du Tenkukai-Weaverforger and about five other last names I don't remember. We are indeed grateful to them all.
I recognize our failings as a Town in not keeping track of the afflicted healers better, though I had been told they were kept in a safe place, it would appear that Malyc cloaked them from our vision, and while our Gothi and Seithr are powerful, they could not stand against the Maleficarum of a Dark God. We shall do what we can to correct this. I take full responsibility for whatever failings happened on the battlefield after you were returned and the cult ritual began. While I was dragged into Malyc's realm myself as soon as the battle was joined, it was still entrusted to me to lead the town to war, and I should have done better. I recognize my own failing, and shall correct it. If anyone wishes to speak with me or write to me about this matter, feel free, I make no excuses and wish to do better by you in the future.
Yours in Service and Honor,
Grimkjell Eirson

Travance,
In the short time I have known you, you seem to be greatly in favor of these grandiose proclamations and wonderful sweeping speeches.
But can you translate these fancy words into actions?
When there was a soul harvester slowly devouring my very soul from the inside, what I heard was a lot of boasts of "This is Travance, we'll take care of it," and "this is Travance, we can accomplish anything!" I had a lot of words and statements thrown at me. But with a few notable exceptions, none took the time to actually listen. Instead of being so full of your pompous pride, you might have done better speaking to the ones afflicted, instead of constantly speaking at them.
Yes, you saved the corrupted in the end. For which, I for one am grateful, and I thank you.
But how did you let it get so far?
Why, when the extent of the corruption was obvious, were those afflicted allowed to remain to their own devices? It was not my wish to introduce myself through this town from the end of a blade.
Why was the corruption more important than the people it was hurting?
I am still haunted by finding myself attacking a town I was hoping to call home.
Instead of patting yourselves on the back, take the lessons of this past feast to heart and remember what your healers are worth to you.
Remember that they're not potions with legs. Remember that healers are people too.
Don't you dare take them for granted.

Sir Pluvious,
Thank you for your kind words. You were one of the few people that made sure I was okay and I thank you for that. You have helped myself and the other healers countless other times with your kind heart and I am glad to consider you a friend. I wish more shared your views and dedication toward the healers.
to Lt Grim,
At the next feast I would like to take a moment to ask you a few questions if that is okay with you. I'd prefer if we could speak on this matter in person and not through missives.

*this message seems to have been written by a shaky hand.*
I am not asking for thanks.
We saved five souls, but countless more have already been lost.
How many of the ones slain had been afflicted in the same way that the ones who call travance home.
Their souls are gone, and we were only able to save five.
I did everything that I could, but in the end it was just a drop in the well.
Father Elric Ashby.
*in slightly clearer writing*
If any of the healers find themselves in Auralion, please feel free to stop at my home, I can make some tea, it may not be much, but I wish to do whatever I can to help you recover.

I don't like writing letters in response to things like these, but I figured I might as well put my two coppers in.
Travance is one of the best places I have ever been to. Best is hardly a descriptive word, but it fits. Despite my initial hesitation to reveal myself as a wild mage, it has been one of the few places where I haven't been persecuted or feared for my safety because of what I am. It has been a safe haven for me and others of my kind. It has been a place where I've known camaraderie, friendship, and family I never would have thought I would meet. It's with this that I say that I truly love this land. But the land is nothing without its people.
While many of us harbor many mixed feelings towards Klarington Everest, it is in his words that Time ends when there is no one left to experience it. So to, must be Travance - without the people who found its backbone, its hands, or its head, so shall Travance find its own end, too. There are those who hunt necromancers for the fact that their magic erodes the Weave little by little, and there are those who try to prevent others from learning such an art. Let that be a metaphor for finding zeal against those enemies of Travance who seek to weaken us by slaying one innocent subject at a time, lest our victories be nothing but Pyrrhic in nature - and if you want to stop the black arts used by encouraging others to study more constructive arts, even more rewarding is making peace with those Travance once called foes.
There was a man who came up to me, his name was Ezekiel. His sister, Delilah, was a healer. She was reported to have gone missing after looking a little sick. I had to tell him that his sister, in all likelihood, was dead. Imagine then, that not all of the monsters we fought were healers who willingly turned themselves to Malyc's fell power in turn for greater strength. Imagine then, that those turned unwillingly had comrades, friends, and family who were not knowledgeable or strong enough to save them, and that they now have to live with the memory of a missing person in their lives. Imagine then, they see us adventurers being able to heal the people who had the same affliction, yet did nothing to aid their loved ones. This is the reason why Winifred and Maggie and so many others make such Faustian pacts to give them the power to take revenge on us.
In this place, things once thought impossible do tend to happen, but remember the bodies that end up by the wayside. We stopped a demon lord from turning Arawyn into a hellish landscape, yet in the process, Glangsdale - the land in which I grew and called my home - was almost completely destroyed, in addition to the ruin of many other civilizations on Palmydia. We slew the most powerful vampire in existence, yes. I think most of you still remember the cost of that battle. We found artifacts of lost gnomish science, and yet those who bore them through the Gates of Passage all perished in the few, horrid hours that languished after their final journey. Hells, I can sing spellsongs! But alas. the very same woman who made that possible gave her power and her life to save all of Travance later that same day. I had known only for a brief while, but if you think I wouldn't give that power back if it would bring her and her daughter back to the world of the living, you couldn't be more wrong.
Just remember that the battle that is only truly won is the one that never started.

As an addendum: if anyone is curious as to any of the people or occurrences previously mentioned, I invite you to ask me or even anyone else about them. It behooves those of us who call this land our home to know as much as we can about its past and history.
There is much to cover, and there are many stories that deserve to be remembered.
