One year ago a sacrifice made
Never will your memories fade
I sing quietly with every tear
I sing because I know you hear
Your loss we suffer greatly
Your absence we feel dearly
My heart is so heavy it bleeds
You were the leader Travance needs
Protected us under your wing like a dove
Endless for you is my feeling of love

This is a very good poem and it conveys probably the feelings of many Travancians.
However, unless I am mistaken, Mixolydia didn't sacrifice herself. She essentially ascended to be one of the Lorestri. A very high honor for any Bard. It was told to her a long time ago before she left us that this would happen and she would know when. It just so happened to be that time last year.
I am not saying this to belittle the words here. I am saying it so that the people who came over the past year don't think that the last Baroness became a sacrifice for some reason, but realize that she was honored in a way most Bards want to be. To sing their songs forever.
Remember, she said it's not where she would see us again. But when she will see us again. She'll be back and we'll welcome her back with open arms.

Her Excellency offered me food and shelter when I had nothing but the clothes on my back. She saw a potential inside of me that no one else could. It was something I refused to see in myself. But still, she helped me, a simple street kid who could heal just cuts and bruises at the time. A person who was ignored and forgotten by the masses.I miss her every day, and I regret every chance I did not take to spend time with her.

Ser Renaith,
It is sad many don't know the sacrifice she made for us all. The scroll that she is protecting and running through time with; in the hands of the Anathema could destroy all memory and all song. She won't allow it. Only a Lorestri could successfully abscond with the scroll. And as such she ascended, and as such she runs, through time she runs alone, for us all...

Such a pity to lose such an inspirational, selfless soul to such a relentless malevolence. She is dearly missed.

I know that look. She seems peaceful, like a mother who knows her children will grow up to be just fine. May I ask who this person is?

While a large part of me wishes to stand on a soapbox and launch a tirade upon on the superior nature of "constructive" criticism I shall reign it in.
Mixolydia is a good person. When she was the Baroness and took on Owen and myself as her squires, she taught us many things - she was courteous, diplomatic, and kind. If a hated enemy walked through the gates of the Dragon's Claw asking for parley, she would likely grant it. One of the things she told me often was that she believed there is strength in mercy.
We may or may not ever see her again (or at all, for that matter), but I still see echoes of her influence here in Travance.
For those new within Travance's borders, a brief history lesson - the Lorestri are those who use bardic magic to travel through time itself and, more importantly, use that ability to protect it. It's different than Orange Sorcery, trust me.
Most of them were killed, systematically hunted down by a group of villains with similar abilities, albeit using them for nihilistic and omnidestructional purposes (they wanted to change time, bend it to their will, and ultimately destroy it).
When Mixolydia accepted the mantle of the Lorestri, there were only three other Lorestri still alive - and two of them died later that same day.
I wish to remind you all of another well-known bard who ascended into a similar position - The man known as Tobar. The man who allegedly out-rainbowed a unicorn took up a similar mantle as part of the Temporis Guard. These are the men and women who protect the Temporis Scrolls, the first songs sung in this world (among other things). They are just as important as the Lorestri, for while the Lorestri go out and walk through time as messengers and many other roles, the Temporis Guard are the the rock who defend Temporis Keep and all it holds. Unfortunately, Tobar is one of the only ones remaining, taking up his own mantle a few months after Mixolydia.
Anyone who wishes to learn more about Mixolydia, the Lorestri, or the Temporis Guard would do well to speak with me. I have many a tale to tell for those who wish to lend an ear.

But I digress. The best way to ensure others are never forgotten is to remember what they taught, and to teach others the same.
Let us act with dignity, to keep our heads raised even in times of trouble, and not let our pride blind us to our failings.
Let us act with respect, for to truly receive it, we must show it first without expecting it to be given in turn.
Let us act with mercy, even to our enemies, for we are neither demons nor monsters, and more often than not, neither are our foes.
I have faith in us, Travance. Let us make every tomorrow a better one.

To all whom have written on this matter or read of it now,
I humble myself and implore you all to set aside your bickering.
My interpretation of the intentions of this posting were simply to convey remembrance of a great leader, teacher, and friend who found her way into may of our lives and hearts, and whom is no longer actively apart of them now. Whether your philosophies, ideals, beliefs, or whatnot lead you to question her continued existence, as it were, is neither up for debate nor in argument.
Please use this opportunity and posting as, simply, a way of honoring a great person who impacted your life. Nothing more.

Dear Angeliana
Thank you for your Kind words about my sister. I can see why she cared so much for you.
I was very taken back about what some had posted, and at one point even offended. But Lord Admiral Victor Sylus words do in fact speak with much truth. Honor my sister for who she was and still is, and live my friends... live.

Perspective is a thing to keep in mind.
To some, sweet words can seem unkind,
While others see only good will.
So tenuous, the scratching of the quill.
Intention should be what most matters
Before our misplaced anger shatters
Our precious fellowship and we
Should sometimes agree to disagree.
Argue not on such semantics,
For truly they are misplaced antics.
Perspectives change, much like the seasons.
So we don't all think alike? No reason
To treat each other cruelly, right?
A proper cause to end this fight.
