normal A Sharing of Knowledge

03 Sep 2015 14:44 #1 by Sergei Petsho (Bran MacInnes)
A Sharing of Knowledge was created by Sergei Petsho (Bran MacInnes)
Greetings, learned people of Travance! There is much to learn in this great wide world, and precious little time to learn it in. If any are interested, I would like to have a small gathering of people interesting in sharing knowledge with each other.

My personal library, while varied and a source of great joy to me, has become sadly outdated in some areas. So if any wish to learn of specific topics in exchange for teaching me about some more modern learning, do please let me know, that I may pull some from my library to bring it with me.

For safety and quietness' sake, I should like to hold this around midnight on the day of the grand feast, after all the hubbub has gone down.

Please bring tea or light refreshments to pass.

You neglected to state where, but perhaps it can be held where I stay, as it has a substantial library.

Ah, an oversight on my part. Perhaps, good Loremaster if I knew your place of residence? I had thought that the building next to the Inn would serve as a quiet place that would be less likely to be interrupted as well.

A fine sentiment, good Lieutenant Eirson! I do appreciate the offer. I shall certainly be making myself available after the usual feast day hubbub quiets down.

I reside in the Pendarvin Statehouse. It is but a hundred meters from the Inn, if that.

Faith, you say? Well, I suppose modern interpretations of scripture are always an excellent way to gauge the social environment. But should you or anyone be interested in learning of any particular topics, do please inform me ahead of time, that I may retrieve the correct volumes from my library.

The timing of this does prove unfortunate, as by midnight, I would have already retired to my quarters. However, should there be other meetings happening, I may be able to come. If not, that is fine, as I am going to be busy throughout most of the day, and it would be difficult to determine my availability.

A strong spot of tea and intestinal fortitude do the trick for staying up late! Stimulating conversation is helpful as well, I have found. Sadly, I will not be able to meet beforehand, as I've some business to attend to. I do hope you decide to make the effort. I shall be happy to meet with people in the inn beforehand as a handy gathering place.

If anyone would be interested in learning of any specific topics, do try to let me know by tomorrow evening, that I might have the time to properly research the topics for the lessons.

Mr. Nagell,

Sadly, I will not be in the Proper that late. Do you have any manuscripts for trade? I could send along some with one of the other scholars in town.

Good evening, Mr. Nagell.

After a long day of hustling around and performing various administrative tasks for the Barony, it would certainly behoove me to take a breather, especially with tea. Countless moons have passed since I've had a proper cup. As well, the promise of new friends and a chance at educating myself further, compels me to visit.

Warm Regards,
Nalick

A last minute reminder for anyone who wishes to learn anything specific. Do let me know by tonight if you wish to learn of anything I may have in my library.

Good Sir,

I believe the issue regarding this is we do not know what volumes your library contains. Perhaps were we granted that knowledge we would be more able to address specific areas of interest that we would wish to learn more about.

I myself would like to learn about some of the various and sundry monsters that wander the lands of travance, and farther out. This may sound strange, but if you have knowledge of Humonculi I think that particular kind of information will be in high demand.

For myself, I'm curious about foes such as Travance regularly fights, such as demons, undead, particularly liches, and the basic ability to identify monsters as such.

Mr. Nagell,

Should you have anything in your library pertaining to Sylph culture and customs, I would greatly appreciate you bringing it along with you.
