Heroes,
Your Paladin, Magnus, has secured the location I requested for the placement of the final anchor. Steel yourselves and prepare. We will be venturing into the Chaos Wastes. Beware and do not trust your eyes. This place is ever changing and twisted with violent powers. Necrophitus himself holds sway in this domain, and it will be taxing, but this is the end for our mission and we must not relent.
I will come to open the way late into the night before your grand feast. Look to begin gathering at the Dragon's Claw two and a half hours past midnight.
Be ready.
Cennius, the Soulforger
Arcanum of Evernight

Cennius,
I can assure you I will be ready to go.
I look forward to placing this last anchor and seeing what a realm where Necrophitus holds sway is like.

Too many (or rather too few) bells for an old man such as me.
However, I will attempt to battle my age to do battle;
I cannot pass up the occasion to venture into the wastes for the greater glory of Valos.
Into the Chaos Wastes it is.
May Our Lord, the God-King, protect and preserve us.

Father Ephrem,
If they would like to watch or participate with us in placing a Chaos anchor then it would be welcome I am sure. From what I understand the Chaos wastes are dangerous and I am not sure of what we will find while there, and those involved in placing the anchor may be unable to do anything else.

The anchor isn't finished.
We need to find a way to return....
It is too dangerous to just walk in.
I was too in my cups to return on Saturday night. If anyone has ideas...

Perhaps direct help from the gods now that Eodra is restored. We will need the war gods anyway to battle that gods-awful monstrosity that we caught a glimpse of in the Chaos wastes, that....what was it...."God Devourer?"

Father Ephrem,
That was the Soul Devourer, and it indeed is our primary obstacle. Without Cennius around to protect us, it will notice us immediately.
We could apparently see it in the distance from the chosen site of the fifth anchor.
Engaging in research. Please bear with us.

Chet,
Are you implying here that Cennius was anything other than a hero and ally?
Are you implying that you would rather have let Necrophitus take control of all of chaos again?
That the sacrifice Cennius has made to help the world continue is not worth 'breaking laws' even though I fail to see where any laws were broken.
Do you even understand what's at stake here? The Gravity of what happened in the wastes?
For those who don't. The power level of an Arcanum of Evernight is unheard of. The only experience we have had with working AGAINST one is Hepharious the Corpse Walker, and I can tell you for certain he was WEAK compared to someone with the determination like Cennius. Most Arcanum can flip a few cards of their deck and destroy villages, towns, probably even us.
Necrophtius scolded Cennius like he was a child.....Cennius would be no match against someone like Necrophitus.
Make no mistake, the only reason our towns members returned unharmed is because Cennius protected us and sent us away.
We. Are. No. Match. For. Necrophtius.
Not yet.
Yet Chet, you find it either hilarious to be contrary or are just uneducated to come in and imply that an ally who we have lost, who could've stayed out of everything, who could've been content to watch us all fail, is anything but a hero. You are one of those who are so stuck up on the fact that he has no skin or muscles that it must mean he can never do anything GOOD.
I will tell you, I have seen him refer to the sentient undead he can create as children. He wanted them to learn to follow the laws. He wanted some of them to come to Travance to learn how the world works. We told him no, because people like you would wantonly kill them.
If you are so stuck in your opinion, I hope you can come say it to my face instead of writing your chicken scratch on the Dragon's Claw. I would more than happy to illuminate you to the gravity of what you are facing.

Chet,
I am literally asking you what you are implying with your original posting.
I only followed up, to make it clear, where I stand, if you are in fact implying anything other than Cennius being a hero.To clarify further, I am saying that either, you are to make light of something extremely serious and dangerous, or you are not educated in the subject at hand, which I offered to inform you on. I am not talking about your schooling or intelligence.

Chet,
The answer to that question is, yes.
What is a dark force?
Is it what is covered in my Writ of Existence?
Is it, anyone who is different or uses powers the nobility doesn't agree with?
It is Liches? Evernight?
Or is it, those who propose harm to those all of existence or the existence of our town?
I will 'conspire' with as many dark forces I need to in order to defeat Necrophitus.
You can arrest me if you want, I don't care, but the bigger picture is we can't live to fight those battles if we don't live at all. I would suffer brands, culling posts, executions, if that meant I save my family and the people who live in this town, even those who would see me killed for how I go about doing it.
Literally fighting over here so you can continue to bandy the laws about in the future.
But whatever you find more important right now is your prerogative.

Sometimes things that are usually "evil" must be done for the good of the rest. If consorting with a lich (who saved our lives mind you) means that I am branded as evil, then so be it. But we are working to stop Necrophitus, so doesn't that then make the work 'good'? Unfortunately, it seems that people like our poor sweet Chet here, can't wrap their tiny brains around the concept that maybe... JUST MAYBE... stereotypes and assumptions aren't the way to go. Get to know a person or entity before branding it as evil

Chet, and to all others who still fear the Dark,
I'll buy you a drink, cook a meal, stoke a fire, whatever you like.
I'll meet you here in the Claw. I'll put you up in my cottage.
I will take you on a spiritual journey through the far realms of this world, if I have to.
Whatever you need to understand, I will make it available to you.
Let's talk.
But in the meantime, please leave my grieving friend alone, and let these good people do the work they need to do to save our world.
